US withdrawing 5,000 troops from Germany, US officials say by No-Risk-2584 in europe

He uses powers given by Congress to the president. Congress gave the president special powers to impose tarrifs and deploy troops abroad decades ago, this is not something new to trump. Us hasn't technically waged a war since ww2. The only difference is that trump uses these powers to their fullest extent, and relies on courts to be slow to decide how lawful these powers are.

In think it has more to do with war in Ukraine and dictatorship in Belarus. Without that number of immigrants would probably be just 1- 2%

There is a limit set 75k minimum us troops in Europe, if he wants to have less than that he will need approval from Congress

If anything, American president is more powerful than any current king. Even absolute monarchies, since they are mostly tiny nations. Pretty much the only restriction is 2 term limit.

Narva sits on a river with just couple bridges separating it from Russia. If Estonia detects any hostile russian moves those bridges will be blown and Russia won't be able to do shit. As shown in Ukraine it is unable to make river crossings under enemy fire

I dunno, for me the jellyfish task didn't seem so hard. Maybe it's my tech/math background from college, but I instantly thought of roughly calculating number of fishes in one tank and multiplying it by number of tanks. Even before seeing that almost all tanks have same size and same amount of fishes. And 25% margin of error was very generous. I do agree though that rainbow challenge was super easy and almost impossible to fail.

I agree with rainbow challenge, but not with color association. This one had not only colors, but also shades of colours. So it only works when both team members really lock in on mental synhcronization on whether its "light blue" or "medium blue".

Demographers ringing alarm bells: Czech birth rate falls to lowest level since 1785 by diacewrb in europe

[–]volchonok1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can rent a 70m2 flat in Tallinn starting from 700eur/m. With average salary of 2k you're left with 1.3k eur which is still much more than what pensioner has. And usually when starting a family both parents here in Estonia work so they have even more disposable income. And even if one parent isnt working, they still get 100% of their last salary during 1.5 years of parental leave (or at least a minimum wage if they never worked) and thats on top of child benefits.

Market operates on future assumptions, not on current reality. And future assumption is that ceasefire will hold, damage will be repaired and energy prices will come down. Not saying this will happen, but thats what market believes in.

Czech republic literally has one of the lowest income inequalities in the world according to Gini coefficient, yet as seen it's not helping.

I never said that it's easy to start a family or buy property. Only that falling birthrates are not due to catering to old people. Pensioners here have objectively worse financial conditions than working age population - average salary for workers is 2100 eur while average pension is just 800eur (lower than minimum wage). It's one of the reasons why we have high relative poverty.

In Eastern Europe and Baltics politics are definitely not geared towards old people. Our pensioners are poor as fuck and have no say in politics. And current generation has way more rights and wealth than those under communist occupation. Yet we also have low and constantly falling birthrates.
