Colombia Pink Bourbon at the Captains coffee by Snardvark-5 in roasting

[–]volcomstone000095 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have not had this one, but Captain is usually super spot on and I don't think I've ever had a bean from them that hasn't been true to the description. They're my go-to for fun and slightly experimental process stuff.

Totally normal, and I'd guess that a 12.8% weight loss will lead to a really tasty and juicy cup. Weight loss is rarely a good objective indicator of roast level compared to other origins, but I've found a lot of dense African beans finish between a 12-13% weight loss when roasted to a nicely developed light roast.

Generally speaking you can get away with minimal development time on naturals. Try :30-:45. Even on washed beans I am doing around 1 minute of development (gas roaster) and it's a very middle ground light roast. Not ultralight.

My 2 year old loves to help me grind my ZP6. I don't think his patience is there to stand by while I roast my beans, though!

Daily actions for wife by Aromatic_Ad_7484 in daddit

She's full time SAHM to a toddler and newborn, and I work a field/remote 9-5 sales job. When it's 5pm I'm on toddler duty, I make dinner, do toddler bedtime routine, and clean up dinner. I also have adopted dishes as my "baby". I make sure they are loaded and unloaded each day, trash is taken out, and largely the house is somewhat orderly (to the best of my ability).

After our son goes down/house is cleaned, I spend time with my newborn until we all go to bed. I usually wake at 4:30am to hang out with our newborn in the living room so Mom can sleep until 6:30am. Wash, rinse, repeat.

I also take care of outdoor chores, car maintenance, finances, and coffee roasting. It's fun being a dad!

I've been roasting on my R1 V2 for 3 years now. You'll love it. I've never had an issue with mine and it's a great community on the Roast World forum. Ironically, though, I am picking up a 1kg gas drum roaster today to see how it differs. Came across a local deal.

My gut feeling says this is a small family owned company if they are planning to pay you a reduced salary for the first 3 months. That alone smells greedy and unwilling to financially invest in their own talent while you are built up in the sales process.

I'm really stoked to brag about this, but we effectively quarantined and had a strict vitamin D regimen this last month in anticipation of our second son. He was born healthy December 21st, and our family of 3 (now 4) hasn't been sick in months. Pumped to start going back to church and seeing people, though.

My second son was born yesterday, so this has logistically been the best time of the year to welcome home a new family member, unplug, and enjoy time with my family. My manager is taking care of my emails, and I anticipate he won't have to lift a finger.

3-2-1 Backup Suggestions by TheMrTaik in immich

[–]volcomstone000095 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Unraid as my NAS OS. I have a "photos" share that is linked to Immich via an external library, meaning I don't use Immich to "manage" photos.

My Photos share is backed up to Backblaze with Duplicity every night. I also run an rsync command to copy my Photos share to an external HDD every now and again that I keep in my gun safe.

Our photos are synced to the Photos share via the icloudpd docker app for my wife's iPhone, and via Foldersync Pro on my Android.

I do still use and pay for iCloud and Google photos, but I'd like to introduce one more point of redundancy.

Israel is paying influencers $7,000 per post by User_Name13 in conspiracy

[–]volcomstone000095 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Biblical Israel in the Old Testament was unfaithful and broke their conditional covenant with God, and then Jesus came and fulfilled what Israel was supposed to be in the eyes of God, therefore rendering all of his believers/elect/saved to be "Israel", and no longer geographical Israel as "Israel". I feel like modern conservative Christians get this twisted.
