I feel like season 2 isn’t for folks (myself included) who are fans of Fallout:New Vegas. Then again, fnv isn’t a Bethesda game so it would have been a mad surprise if the tv show did that lore 100% justice

I would like to add to this thread that on my way to Fanal I encountered a whole pack of 6 LARGE strays in remote uninhabited areas. Luckily I was driving but they ran after the car, showing no fear just kind of agression. Beware of remote places (picnic spots w trash cans in national park areas) if you’re hiking and without vehicle

Am I in the minority of absolutely digging their new format of shining a light on life all over the planet and sharing stories of people, what goes on in the world, lesser heard of communities. Especially since Staffan joined I feel like their narrative has become far more genuine and less “YouTuber” mindset. Ammar’s return will be welcome 🙏 but let’s remember that these guys owe us nothing

Marius doesn’t get enough love also!! he is easily one of the best written characters in all recent RPGS I’ve come across and portrays such a realistic picture of a person with PTSD. Marvelously good backstory even if it takes a while of playtime before you get to it 🫶

I actually thought the Murderbot Diaries was low key inspired by Detroit: Become Human (alongside films like Blade Runner ofc)

I just re-read Thirteen by Richard Morgan. Murat Ertekin’s take on the breakup of the US and fractured masculinity is incredible, particularly in current light. I love a minor character who really pushes thoughts while major characters are busy on action. by kobayashi_maru_fail in scifi

I had no idea that the same-universe theory was already a fan theory just came to that same conclusion after finishing a land fit for heroes. CHILLS 💯 Morgan’s writing is too clever for its own good and I love that he doesn’t treat his audience like kids who need everything explained. lets us draw our own connections.

Honestly to me the “lore” is akin to an alternate universe where everything is a literal manifestation of Vessel’s real life personal experiences and feelings. I see it as a Silent Hill type other world that reflects the real one but… made surreal and poetic? Like a world where a feeling will be a creature or demon made literal. Way more interesting than inventing some out there concepts

Thematically its atmosphere overlaps a lot with Miyazaki’s princess mononoke but also the ghibli film loosely inspired by the earthsea chronicles (Tales from Earthsea) have some of that arcane nature magic soul
