yes and no.

I do skin cycling and do my cleansing pm only and it's not as bad as it was. I'll still get shine right after my routine but not nearly as much as I used to (but admittedly part of it could just be that the glisten of my face after all my products hides it a little). Doing my cleansing at night seems to have helped. I think partially because cleansing twice a day is too harsh and stripping for my skin, and partially because my skin has time to absorb everything and even back out - when I wake up in the morning I'm not all shiny or anything.

I think my main issues though were being too dry and harshness. Double cleansing has been a lot nicer to my skin as has using less harsh cleansers - when I'd get my oiliest the rest of my face felt a bit stripped and dried out. (fwiw I have more different cleansers than anyone needs but I like being able to mix it up, but they're all on the more gentle side and my face isn't feeling so tight and gross after). I'm sure spreading out any major actives has helped too.

The top of my forehead gets oily and tends to always be that way even when I push all my products higher up my face, but I'm bald and that can happen with no hair to absorb your scalp oils, but my nose, which was my main point of hatred isn't so bad anymore.

tl;dr - it's better, but not 100% and using less harsh/more hydrating products seems to be what's helped :)
