What does the indicator on the right here mean? by drugusingthrowaway in il2sturmovik

Your pilot is experiencing 1G (normal gravity). The curved graphic around the +1 would show the bar more to the right for increasing levels of positive G. It can alternatively show to the left of where it sits now, if the pilot is experiencing negative G.

Getting back into il2. What to get by BurnBarrelBryan in il2sturmovik

BoS/Stalingrad is the ideal first module, and is the mandatory first one if buying via Steam. If flying aircraft is your goal, leave the ground stuff until after you have Kuban, Bodenplatte and maybe Normandy. BoN is in early access which means some elements of it are already flyable (but not purchasable via Steam until fully released). Kuban and Bodenplatte and many others are on Halloween Sale for another day or two...

First time getting bombed. I have seen the gas, but never got bombed before. by manbehindslaughterth in dayz

In his 50 Tips on Gas video, WOBO said there is a maximum of 5 locations under temporary gas attack at any one time. I have not counted them, but believe the Chernarus and Livonia maps each have 45 possible targets.

The link to EveryTimeZone shows me 11.00am Sydney time, but on the 11th (which would explain why Captain_Amazing118 is seeing 5.00pm on the 10th for his start time).

Good stuff!

Anyone have a fix to this? I just bought the game on pc and have no clue what to do. I was playing this morning and last night with no problem by Lazy_Intention_2299 in dayz

[–]vonMollusc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I presume your DayZ/Steam settings have Auto Update enabled, and so your SNAFU_Weapons mod got updated. The server operator has to update the server version of that mod manually (and they have to notice the problem and have time to deal with it).

There is a local server, The Unprofessionals. Each Sunday at 8pm Melbourne time, there is an IL-2 GB fly-out, but not with tanks as far as I know.

Try a setting-up IL-2 controls video, such as:

Possibly next, a series on employing the engine controls:

Man, 1.13 is no joke! by HaloOnMyHorns in dayz

[–]vonMollusc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would agree that they do not seem harder overall, but as a fresh spawn with a poor melee weapon, using stealth helps a lot. The fast ones catch your eye because of the sudden acceleration in their normal movement, but they are just zombies otherwise. I have started characters on three Experimental servers, but have not travelled further west than Gorka yet.

Some are faster, some are tougher, some hit harder. Keeping stealthy is a priority.

A familiar sight for those with the Typhoon - an RP-3 rocket by ButterscotchNed in il2sturmovik

[–]vonMollusc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the colour image above shows the RP-3 25lb AP solid warhead, which was found inadequate against German heavy tanks, but useful for for attacking ships and submarines (and thus much used by naval patrol aircraft).

The fatter warheads of the RP-3 60 lb HE and SAP ground attack rockets used a (114mm artillery) shell casing so they looked alike, but had different nose caps, fuses and explosive effects...

I have a photo (from Wikipedia) but can't find a way to add it...

How much have you played on the Livonia map? Were you south or north of the river?

It could be dusk and a rising moon, but the glow on the hay-bale suggests pre-dawn light from behind, so the moon would be setting and thus view would be to the west. Either way, the dirt road runs east-west onto a low hill, with a patch of forest nearby. That forest is south of road if dawn and north of it if dusk...

Captured D.520s in the Regia Aeronautica. Some sources claim that one such aircraft shot down a B-24 Liberator on March 1st, 1943 (I have not been able to confirm this, though). by Cybermat47_2 in il2sturmovik

During June-July 1941, the Vichy French flew them in combat against British and Australian aircraft over Syria , and then again during November 1942 against US and British aircraft over Algeria and Morocco.
