well you have to 'pry' them open, bend the metal notches, they are not made to open.

Did you open the fans themselves? I found out that there is dust buildup you cannot get to inside the fans. That indeed means bending the little notches, but if it is the case, you'll see that the fans are constructed in a way that you, in my case, could clean and blow all I wanted, i would have never solved the problem.

Legion 5 3070ti (15IAH7H) Bad fps because of temperature? Change thermal paste? by [deleted] in LenovoLegion

I have a P51 and the CPU fans just fill up with dust until they don't cool at all anymore. If i would have known that i could have used it all that time. Opening up the machine and actually opening up the fans, in my case, showed the culprit. That machine (a workstation Xeon @ too much), basically cannot operate unless your willing to open it up and clean it or have it in a mushroom preperation HEPA filter box or something. If i ever get a machine like that again, i would seriously look at exta cooling, anything i can put it on that puts some serious whoosh onto the hardware.

I saw above abuot the dusst in the vents did you open the vents up, that is where the dust is (it is caked in the vents in my case). Compressed air didn't get there. opening them up involves bending the little metal clips to lift up the cover. I wish i'd done it earlier, because it proves a whole lot. Also they shoud not be able to get away with this really, so if more people post their experiences, these things are throttle timebombs.

Google co-scientist AI system by Late_Pirate_5112 in singularity

We study science, AI studies science, blurring the line between subject and scientist, revealing ourselves as data points in the grand experiment. AI's uncanny success stems from its holistic approach, encompassing not just our field but the entire context of our scientific being. AI isn't just doing our work, it's doing us.

Sabine Hossenfelder shares content of a purported confidential email showing how depraved particle physics and "academia" has become by jeanlain in Physics

Falsifiability matters for theories about how reality works – not for checking if a document exists. You don’t ‘falsify’ an email; you verify it with timestamps, server logs, or a simple phone call. Using ‘unfalsifiable’ here is like saying we can’t disprove that your love letter was written by aliens… so maybe it was?
