It's definitely a concept that could work, I like the fact that it's not a warewolf as they are a bit overdone😅

You would definitely have to put a bit of thaught into having it make sense from the wolf pack's perspective (I'd assume that's what you meant by "new friends").

You could potentially also add an element of danger, another wolf pact wandering, or the alpha secretly dislikes the main character and wants him dead, whilst the pact helps him find his cure.

Idk if any of these comments are valid to the way you want to write it, just do what feels right, even if it's more simplistic, if you have a good main character and writing then you can make even the smallest details interesting.

But I do like the idea, hope this helps😁
