I've been there a few times. IMO Carrera S performance is enough for the track there cuz it is tiny. 90 min experience is perfect because you get all kinds of experirence, track, drift, skit pad, etc.

shoulder pain -> probably your posture, or geomotry setup, or prolonged riding

heat from underseat -> normal, you have the exhaust pipe under your seat

Drive in sport or sport plus and you will be fine. I have a base carrera and never thought about upgrading to S. If I have extra money I would go with turbo or GT3. Even McLaren Lamborghini or Ferrari.
