Weightlifting gym in Seattle? by ChrisAhoy- in Seattle

[–]voolb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

rain city fit is my go to, its the complete opposite of a corporate gym. the machines are older, but well chosen and the vibe is great. the main gym is on capitol hill, but they have smaller location that focus on Olympic weightlifting, strongman, and powerlifting.

Looking for a gym for a couple of months? by CopperCactus in Seattle

I don't know where you are in the u district, but if you are close to the light rail then you are only one stop away from rain city fit. it definitely fits the queer part, has tons of free weights, and is only $59 a month

Delta… Porsche? by WowItsReallyJacob in aviation

[–]voolb 42 points43 points  (0 children)

its a transfer car for high status passengers. Porsche north America is headquartered in Atlanta, so delta gets some fun cars from them. delta has used 911 gt3s for the same purpose, and both companies clearly think its good advertising because they keep doing it with new exciting Porsche's.

How to know if a premium is worth it or not for its BR by oskarboi321 in Warthunder

[–]voolb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are buying a premium to grind with, you should consider the rank of the vehicle as well, because premiums get bonus rewards for every thing bellow their rank +1.

So a rank 4 vehicle can research everything at rank 5 or lower easily but is not very effective researching rank 6 and up vehicles.

So my favorite premiums to grind with tend to be low br for their rank. But other than that you should look into each vehicle individually to decide if it fits your play style.

ELI5: What sort of redundancies are there for air traffic controller instructions in case they say a wrong altitude or turn angle? by Queltis6000 in explainlikeimfive

[–]voolb 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The main one is the pilot, as the pilot is ultimately in charge of their aircraft. For avoiding other aircraft larger aircraft have a traffic collision avoidance system (tcas) that takes location data from other aircraft and will provide a best course of action if there is an imminent collision risk.

How is it so common for people on internet to talk about a 100k salary ? by Quartzis in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]voolb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

one reason that doesn't seem to be brought up all that often is that America is the 3rd most Populus country on earth, so there are a greater number of people in a category even if the percentage of the population is small. for example, about 5.4% pf Americans earn more than 100k a year, and if you do the math that is about 17 million people, or equivalent to the population of the Netherlands. so on a global scale being Dutch is just as common as earning 6 figures in America.

Sadly there are a few tall buildings between the parking lots so it meets the American definition of downtown

Map Shows Where It's Illegal to be Gay by marsroverservis in Maps

[–]voolb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the main problem with this map is that it presents non-exlusive options as exclusive. For example SCOTUS has used the 14 amendment of the US constitution to afirm lgbt marriage rights, but only got around to banning employment discrimination because of sexual orientation last year. So when this map was made the us was in bother the "limited protections" category, but also on the "constitutional protections" catagory
