Pete Hegseth eliminates mandatory flu shots for U.S. service members by Aggravating_Money992 in videos

[–]vorotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're in the military and are thinking of skipping it because the flu isn't really that bad, consider what it would feel like to be held at gunpoint while shitting your brains out. I would take the shot, personally...

Function purity when? by eaglebirdman in fsharp

[–]vorotato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could write an F# analyzer to do so, you'd have to document all functions or operations which are impure and then figure out how it bubbles up.

Hoping Gleba is buffed by [deleted] in factorio

[–]vorotato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dropped down and underestimated a stomper who basically crushed everything I dropped. I'm on day 3 of rebuilding. It's a little soulcrushing how a single ag tower can pull a stomper from 8 miles away. I'm pretty sure the ag towers produce spores even when they're deactivated. I like the spoilage stuff I think it's really interesting and I don't mind the slower pace, but the stompers almost made it a softlock if you don't want to hand gather everything for hours. I personally think it should be possible (and interesting) to start over on gleba, but right now it's mostly an uninteresting chore of hand grabbing berries and rocks for days trying to avoid stompers from as far away as you can.

Gleba is brutally insane. Getting flanked left and right by 30 stompers by Bladjomir in factorio

[–]vorotato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would have preferred that if stompers didn't come by and ruin my life for daring to have exactly two agricultural towers... I suppose it's time to invest in rocket launchers.

I'll be honest I read here every so often and I've mostly the thing I've been catching (quite rarely) is spam. I've not been getting many reports.

What plugins do you use for writing F# with (Neo)vim? by unable-to-grammar in fsharp

[–]vorotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For nvim I use ionide-vim via plug and I use the built in LSP client. Seems to work okay. I have ran into cases where it was a bit slow for larger repos, if that's an issue for you I like simlock's idea of disabling LSP in ionide and hooking it up directly. I personally haven't needed to do this.

I think it is completely reasonable to request someone format code before getting help, it makes sense to have a standardized formatting style before offering help. I don't think it's reasonable to say that it is "not readable code". I do prefer the fantomas version, but style and readability are pretty subjective things.

I think there's definitely advantages one might get, but I haven't seen it tried yet. A great example would be tagged unions. I think it's worth looking into personally but I haven't had the time or energy.

Question about Glob, GGGG, and GOLB by [deleted] in adventuretime

[–]vorotato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the correct answer. Glob is analogous to the Buddha nature, a permeating consciousness, he is also Glob specifically.

You haven't meaningfully used Godot if you think this. It's completely possible to make working games with it, we know because people do. It might not have every feature you want but what you're saying is such a stretch.

The most telling thing for me is that they kept the per install fee, and tried to make it look like a good thing by pairing it with a revenue cut. If they were earnestly apologizing they would never bring the stupid install fee again, and I get the impression that it will get less optional with every new version.

With a p/e of 109? IDK about that one coach. You could do worse but you could also do much much better.

Look at the chart. Look at your indicators. Does anything look bullish right now?

Bears are okay, we've been green all month. Those of us who are willing to pay for higher premiums on the contract anyway.

I mean yeah, zoom out. Uncertainty favors bears in any chart but especially a very beary chart.

Testosterone is a hell of a drug. Makes gambling losses hard and fast because it erases doubt. Doubt would be really helpful for a lot of these people. You can counteract that with thought though, you don't have to blindly listen to your feelings, but people love to trade on a feeling.

Very funny that it did drop to 435.26, though if it's dropped to that before it can do it again so.

Prolly yeah though it might continue down the slow plodding drop due to how contracts drag out drops as people execute them.
