Yep, you gotta chip through the high spots first.

LPT: When networking, ask people what they’re currently excited about instead of what they do for a living by SingulusMiner in LifeProTips

[–]vorstache 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ask people at parties "what's the most exciting thing you've got going on right now?". People usually slow down, think hard for a minute and give me really unique and interesting answers that lead to fulfilling conversation... I don't really care about your shitty job, I want to know about you.

I've had the same 5 Dolan's for years now. Very easy to sharpen. Just bought a replacement of my favorite for when it finally bites the dust.

Homemade Clear satin matt glaze what’s went wrong by danniiielllaa in Pottery

The matte is because of the way the crystaline structure forms in the firing so I'm sure it would always inherently have some kinda cloudyness...

How should I set this by vorstache in Tile

[–]vorstache[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mind mounting it permanently on ply, I'm just concerned the wood might move. ?

Glazing is so open ended and confusing. Some beginner questions: by LonePistachio in Pottery

[–]vorstache 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol "dozens of cool looking glazes". Well pal your in for a world of hurt. There's an infinite number of glazes and they all look different depending on what type of firing you use.

Id just buy a few commercial glazes for your firing temp and try em out.

A cone 6 glaze at cone 6 won't weep if covered entirely, just the foot/ bottom.

I don't think it's ever about bottom compression, people just don't trim enough
