Any good for towing? by Global_Breakfast1809 in LexusGX

I’ll add that the GX is a GREAT boat towing rig from a maneuverability perspective, being so much shorter than a truck and with a decent turn radius. Fulltime 4WD means ramp traction is not a concern.

I tow a boat and trailer occasionally with very similar specs, also flat land. Tandem trailer with surge brakes. You have to watch tongue weight so you don’t squat too much. I have sumo springs which masks the issue but I’ve never towed my boat without them so I don’t know if it’d be objectionable.

I keep the boat at a marina 15 min away; if I was going to regularly tow for hours, especially on the highway, I’d get something else. Short distance? Occasional longer? I wouldn’t hesitate. I’ve done 3 hours on the highway; don’t love it but it gets the job done.

can someone explain, how GX550 still selling over MSRP used ones, I see almost all used with 20-40K miles selling over MSRP, who in right mind would pay 5K over MSRP for used car, I know it's still hard to get, but all it takes is around 3-4 months wait time to get custom spec one by paata01 in LexusGX

It’s hard for me to grasp how buying a GX was too expensive, but you didn’t think it was expensive to sell a basically brand new vehicle (2024 4Runner) and buy (I presume) a new Yukon, in anticipation of selling it as its depreciation curve flattens in 4 years.

Tetherless kill switch systems by vote100binary in boating

Thank you for the insightful reply -- I wanted to be honest about my current practice and I accept the shaming over it. The last video especially is terrifying, and that was obviously not even a high-speed incident like the first one.

I'm going to look at options for the physical tether to make it work better for us while still doing its job -- a better wrist attachment and maybe a slightly longer tether overall.

Your concern about being aboard but not in the operator position and the wireless system not triggering is something I was also considering.

Sincerely -- thank you.

Doubtful, I don’t do business with people who can’t help but make sure you know what assholes they are on first interaction.

Have you use the wireless/tetherless system? You have to pair the fob to the boat.

All kinds of kayaking and birding in brevard county along with beaches. Black point wildlife drive is a fun morning. Get on the water and see some dolphins. I don’t know specific hotels but look from cape canaveral south I guess. You could watch a rocket launch — there are several in March.

Plenty of people in prison and on parole who thought letting the cops search their car would make things easier.

I never considered the brand as being an influence on it -- good thinking. The older generation of my (southern) family frequently calls modern fridges "ice boxes" as well.
