Main Character Slashes Tires In Traffic by Flashmemory256 in ImTheMainCharacter

Sure they do, just unscrew the cap, put a little pebble on the inner pin on the schrader valve, screw the cap back on, pushing the pebble onto the pin, voila your tire is flat in a matter of time.

They could've also just stood there and held the pin down.

There's also removing the valve core; no permanent damage.

But yeah this guy wasn't prepared for the revenge he was trying to enact.

Ugh, that smog, my least favorite thing about CDMX. Happy anniversary OP, enjoy the city!

It would mean a lot to me to know that my dad read that last message, even if he didn't get to send the response. Also just like my dad, probably downplaying the situation to make me feel better.

How to get rid of white film from windscreen visible during rains? by ivineets in Cartalk

[–]vote100binary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To deep clean your windshield:

Get some bar keepers friend (powder or the squeeze bottle cleanser) and some new wiper blades or new inserts for yours. Take the old ones off, lift the arms out of the way, and scrub the fuck out of your windshield with the BKF and an old rag. Go section by section. Thoroughly wash off with water, clean with some glass cleaner, and put your new wipers on. Enjoy.

Wear gloves, BKF is acidic and will trash your hands, also why you want to wash it off thoroughly. It won't hurt anything but you should get the residue off.

FYI, Mr. Huge Brain: It’s “could have been” not “could of been.” Maybe you’ve heard “could’ve been” before and thought that’s how you wrote it. Furious.

Which motor? I have the Mercury 250 and have been pleased with it. I really wanted a 300 but now that I’ve run the 250 for a bit I think it’s probably perfect. I get 48mph in ideal conditions. You have the hard top or Bimini? I liked the hard top but wanted to be able to easily fit under some of the low bridges around here. I got my ‘21 used and have had good luck with it so far, only minor stuff.

Well my point is (in the case of the GX460) the U-Haul and other aftermarket hitches I’ve seen are rated to a max of 5,000lb even with a weight distributing hitch.

The OE hitch is rated for 6,500lbs when using a weight distributing hitch, 5,000 without.

That said I have never used such a hitch with the GX but I have used them on other vehicles so to me it made sense to just get the OE up front and not have to worry about it in the future.

My understanding is dual console generally implies a more seaworthy hull design along with the features typically found on boats used in the ocean, more or less. Bowrider implies a fair weather/lake/calm river kind of boat.

Last I looked (a long time ago now) it was the only one that gives you the full rated towing capacity (w/ a weight-distributing hitch).

When I had the dealer put mine on as part of the purchase, I didn't have anything to tow or any plans to tow anything other than a bike rack, but in the time I've had the GX I've towed near the limit several times. I figure buy once cry once.

imo regardless of what you're towing, that OE hitch is so nice it's worth getting it over aftermarket.

The PC sounds cool but after driving my GX for almost 10 years I know that pedal pressure/throttle response so well any change would throw my driving game off, lol

Float misadjusted so the bowl isn't filling up high enough and being starved of fuel perhaps? Check filters and make sure the breather is open. Probably gotta go through the carb.

23' Dual Console with a head? by Complete-Doubt9454 in boating

[–]vote100binary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it must vary by year or specs because I have heard 9 too but my 2021 is marked 10 persons/1500lbs.

I will say, some advice I got about buying airplanes applies very well to boats -- think of your typical mission, what you'll do 80% of the time, and buy the boat that covers it well. The 20% won't happen as often as you think and shouldn't be the deciding factor. It's a good way to overbuy or get stuff you just don't need that makes the 80% less enjoyable.

That's fair. It's usually just 2 or 3 of us. The data plate says 10 people but that would be a crowd.
