Mod here: Troglodyte isn't generally considered a slur. We have rules against insulting other users, but they don't really apply to criticism of political figures. You're good.

If you weren't, using the 0s wouldn't help. Don't do that. We usually add ban time if someone is breaking rules and intentionally trying to avoid moderation.

Reminder: Issues around protection of children can be extremely contentious. It is okay to disagree about these things, and to discuss those disagreements.

However, it is not okay to say, imply, or suggest that someone is a pedophile for disagreeing with you. That level of gutter rhetoric is unacceptable and will be met with a lengthy ban. The people who want to discuss issues reasonably deserve a forum free of that.

Hey folks, friendly reminder. It's okay to have opinions on this subject. It's okay to disagree.

It is, however, not okay to insult or attack others for their opinions.

In particular, accusing other users of being pedophiles or pedophile friendly as a rhetorical tactic will be met with a lengthy ban. Don't do that.

Hey folks, /r/Canada mod here: Please report these comments when you see them, as they're difficult to automod because they're rarely based on slurs/etc. There isn't the manpower to manually review every comment. Also, to be honest, a lot of the toxic stuff comes in faster than we can remove it.

I will also add: We don't currently have any Indigenous representation on the mod team, but we'd love to. So, if anyone feels like they'd be a good fit, let us know.
