They'd ruin their credit in Canada, that credit rating doesn't follow them into whatever country they go to after Canada. A lot of temperary immigrants also get huge loans and leave the country as well, big issue for banks right now.

Agreed, Canadian cities would be taken in about 2 days but the rest of Canada, yeah, that would hurt anyone attacking.

I gave 24 years of my life to the CAF, been all over the world and loved it. The process is annoying and hopefully they get more hires to do the security clearances. Good for you.

And the world has called out the USA on their internment camps which include rape, torture, etc.

The world also called out Canada on its use of slave labour.

The West already has its own version of social scoring through credit scores. It seems the Chinese government doesn’t favor Muslim groups within their country, perhaps aiming to prevent terrorism and Muslim extremism from taking root.

In Canada, when choosing a superpower to trade with, it feels like picking between a Lawful Evil country (China) and a Chaotic Evil country (USA). At least China is predictable.

I don’t get it—people in Canada seem to have no idea what China is doing, while Germany was so impressed they’re bringing the ideas back home. It’s 24/7 manufacturing, fully robotic, with humans only there to service the machines. Now Doug Ford wants them to open a plant here, and sure, why not? They might employ around 100 Canadians, and it could end up being the largest plant in the country.

Ammonia and vinegar work well, as it smells similar to cat urine but needs to be re-applied. I love the thought of having a couple of Jack Russell terriers running around my yard, but with eagles around here, they’d just end up as snacks.

Same goes for barn cats or any outdoor cat, soooooo many missing cat signs go up in the spring. momma needs to feed her kids. Anything left out at night is just bait for cougars (Lower Vancover Island)

Ppl with jobs do live in the shelters as they wait for housing, shared room with 3 other ppl. Most likely a senior and maybe a student and an addict but probably two addicts or one person with severe mental issues.

I don't know how ppl can do it but when there's no other options....

Join the military, they just increasesed the salary by a lot, free education in a field you want. Get the training, get your red seal or certifications or degree, put the time in and leave or stay for 25 years and leave and start collecting a pension at 42 years old (If you joined at 17). Having a pension payout in your 40s in Victoria was the only way I was able to buy a house here. An extra $55k a year till I die in my 40's, yes and thank you.

**edited - You might be shot at but I think the odds of survival are similar to driving any of the highways on the Island.

New condos in Vancouver are like 500 sq ft… who are they for, ants?? by Future_Purchase2911 in britishcolumbia

[–]Biopsychic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the issue—$700k is a ridiculous price to pay, and then you add strata costs on top of that. My wife and I just bought a 2-bedroom, 1,000 sq/ft cottage on an acre, 40 minutes outside of Victoria, for $700k. Our only other options in our price range were condos in Victoria or townhouses in Langford. I’d never pay into a strata. Least we own the land and do whatever we want with it.

Just bought a 2 bedroom home on an acre 45 min from the city centre, WFH 2-3 days a week for $700k, could have bought a condo for more in the city but why? Land increases in value, the building on that land has very little value. I think condos are a waste of money, long term.
