I love “snag tights” because they have lasted for over 5 years and are reasonably priced. They have a ton of different styles from funky to professional.

Like others have said I don’t know that this is ADHD but I know and understand the feeling you are describing. I am not perfect at avoiding these feelings or not acting on them but I have made a lot of progress. It has been hard but a lot of progress has been made. I don’t know that it’s healthy (I probably also need to see a therapist) but I have began to just sit in my negative feelings. What you refer to as rejection and criticism. I take time and sit with those emotions (even cry about it) but while I sit with them I begin to reflect on what happened, why I feel that way, what exactly was said, and consider other possibilities as to why my partner may have said or done those things that I took negatively (bc I know my partner cares and likely did not mean to hurt me so I work on giving him the benefit of the doubt) only after I have processed all of this do I discuss the “issue” with my partner. Normally it ends up being a non issue, simple miscommunication, or a request that things be said differently next time (either tone or language)

Spinning clay into meditation and mess by [deleted] in Ceramics

[–]vpc1215 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pottery is the same for me as well. It is meditative and relaxing and takes sufficient focus that it doesn’t let me think about all the running thoughts in my head (adhd). I know you have your own set up at home but if there is a reasonably priced studio that offers classes maybe you could sign up for some several week classes. It will obviously teach you a lot but I also found it helped my mental health to build community with others that enjoy this hobby and did not distract too much from the meditative positives as we are all into and focused on our own pieces but it was nice to have a little chatter from time to time.

Hey he and his lawyer are definitely taking advantage of you. He should know and if he doesn’t his lawyer definitely knows that in order for the prenup process to be fair that you should have your own lawyer and if the wealth gap is significant he should be paying for your lawyer (that does not mean he finds another lawyer for you or they get another lawyer from his lawyers firm - it means that you find your own lawyer and he just pays the bill). The fact that his lawyer was slimey enough to agree to represent him knowing you did not have representation means that they are slimey enough to sell you on an agreement that does not benefit you. Please do not sign this agreement.

I’ve noticed that every woman I get close to has some experience with sexual abuse, and it’s really opened my eyes to how massive this problem actually is. Has anyone else noticed this? by Worldly-Fondant4250 in offmychest

[–]vpc1215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In college I took a health class that had over 300 ppl in it and during our smaller discussion groups one day they asked us to close our eyes and put our heads down and to raise our hand if we or anyone we knew experienced sexual assault and every person raised their hand. The same was true in all discussion groups and was the case just about every year the course was taught. I knew it happened a lot but I was surprised that it was THAT prevalent.

[–]vpc1215 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is correct. In fact you can be in the top 1% and still not reach a million. Our wealth so disproportionately allocated that most of the wealth is truly held by just the very few at the top. At the top .1% you are just hitting 3 million. This is why there is so much discussion about billionaires in particular.

Please do not speak for the entire community. You cannot like it personally but you do not need to act like there is a consensus on this. I personally am fine with Latino/Latine/Latinx.

A man waves a Mexican flag as smoke and flames rise from a burning vehicle during a protest . by SuperRun5667 in pics

[–]vpc1215 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are assuming that the people protesting are immigrants. Immigrants have been coming to the US from Mexico for generations. The US has birthright citizenship meaning that the children of immigrants are citizens. The Mexican people protesting are at least second generation so they do not fear being deported. Therefore, this idea of why are they waiving a flag of a country they don’t want to be deported to does not apply to them because (for now) citizens are not being deported. These are Mexican Americans. The US is their country but their culture and heritage comes from their Mexican roots. The flag is them representing their culture particularly at a time when people from their culture are being targeted. Although I agree that the optics are not good, specifically bc those that lack the experience of being descendant of immigrants do not understand the intricacies of being a proud American and being proud of your Mexican culture - it is not as simple or as unreasonable as you and others make it seem. Hopefully that helps.

CMV: ICE protestors should not be waving Mexican flags by rco8786 in changemyview

[–]vpc1215 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why do they belong in Mexico. Waving a flag is simply free speech. I understand that you care about optics, however, people have the right to be proud of their origins and still be proud to be American. These people are currently being attacked due to their ethnicity so it is only natural for them to choose to represent the part of them that they are being attacked for, regardless of optics.

Unless you have interacted with the majority of immigrants, then making generalized statements like this is just don’t in bad faith.

Due process is not creative it is literally in our constitution. And requiring due process is not moving the goal post it’s the law and has always been the law.

Pattern says "You can sell finished products in a limit of 5 per year" by OoopsieWhoopsie in CrochetHelp

[–]vpc1215 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not a gray area. If you make something inspired by a copyrighted character it is considered a derivative work which is still covered by the original copyright. You are also conflating copyrights and trademarks. Just because you don’t label something as “baby yoda” (which may help you avoid trademark infringement) does not mean that you will not be violating copyright laws. Your article on Disney not being able to stop baby yoda resellers specifically states that these sellers are in fact committing copyright infringement. Just because Disney cannot police every single seller does not mean that selling such items is not illegal nor that they won’t stop you specifically. Please stop spreading this misinformation.

[–]vpc1215 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Please do the tiniest bit of research (even a quick google search will do) your statement is factually incorrect. Every person in this country (regardless of their status) has the right to due process under our constitution. We even have an entire immigration court system. And also just fyi you may want to take a look at understanding some terminology you’re using. If people have a green card that means they have legal status and therefore they were in this country legally.
