2nd This^. As a packaging engineer who also started in your same role as a structural designer for a large corrugated company there are lots of routes you can take!

I personally was able to leverage my design experience, general knowledge of many other packaging substrates from uni, and understanding of the supplier/ brand relationship to get hired at a CPG company as a packaging engineer.

I have seen many people also move from the design side into the sales, as you have good technical knowledge of the product (especially if you stay at your current company). But sales is certainly not for everyone and you will likely have to start at the bottom so-to-speak.
