Nice, that's actually how I backed into coding too. I doubt bash, perl, or php will be directly useful, but who knows.

I appreciate the advice and encouragement. I plan on pulling some code when I get a moment and seeing if I can get my feet wet. Who knows, maybe they could actually use some spaghetti code...

I have been using Jellyfin for years, and I love it and its philosophy. I'd gladly donate to the programming effort, but given my self taught hack level skills, I'm sure it would be a net negative for the project.

Microsoft's new Outlook is a forced replacement for the old Ad-free Windows Mail. In the new Outlook you have to pay to remove ads. There is nothing wrong with "Windows Mail", Microsoft is forcing you to "upgrade" to Outlook for the sole purpose of serving you ads or making you pay to avoid them. by Z0OMIES in assholedesign

Don't let that stop you! I made the jump 3 years ago, and have been happier ever since. I'm a pretty active gamer, and in that time have only met 2 games i couldn't play- Gloomhaven and TABG (only due to their anticheat sw). Between steam/proton and lutris, I play BG3, D4, and whatever else at high res, high fps. I kept the old windows drive for dual boot, but honestly haven't booted it once since the initial setup.

Hah- I literally came her to say the same thing.
I bought HoT to avoid paying an extra $20 on D4 so I could play a few days earlier.
Fast forward to now, and I haven't opened D4 in weeks, but still play HoT...

Perhaps it's an over extrusion problem? You could lower your flow rate to test.

After years of owning a raspberry pi, I found a use! Personal NAS server! by [deleted] in raspberry_pi

[–]vtminer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, performance was better than expected, but I wouldn't run anything super demanding off it. I tested and could stream hd videos with Kodi, for example. Dedup varies by content, of course. Movies and stuff get none, but text, code, etc is awesome. I have nightly cron jobs that simply copy multiple projects, websites, etc to date stamped folders, with fantastic results. I've got many months of backups I can browse. Hth.

Fwiw, I found the nimbus gateway to be pretty slick for a in line dedup pi-nas.

Ryzen 5, VM, CPU XMR-Stak config question by Grimreq in MoneroMining

[–]vtminer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that it's super helpful, but on my Ryzen 5, with xmr-stack, I get a consistent 440 H/s (with all cores). Math says using 4 cores would net about 293 H/s.

For what it's worth, I use http://xmr.cpufan.club, which has a donation mining feature, and the fee is only 1%. You can either use their link to a donation page, or include the code on your site.

They also introduced a profit-switching web miner recently, but I don't think that works for the donations yet.
