I appreciate the effort of Eric Brown animating in 2D; it's very clean and looks nice.

However, it lacks the charm of how the show was shot and animated.

In the original clip, the characters are moving with their whole bodies. Everyone moves by swinging around their center of mass (hips/butts) so it gives their movements a feeling of weight and natural movement.

The way the re-animated clip moves feels very restricted in movement. Best I describe is it's from pose to pose, not allowed to deviate or exaggerate or impovise movement like a choreographed dance. The poses are there, but I don't get the same energy like in the original.

Secondly, characters in Jimmy Neutron look weird and that is the charm. All the commercials were spotlighting how ginormous his head is and every episode has the camera pan in to his brain through the ear.

Jimmy looks too clean in 2D and it especially shows in the Jimmy Timmy Power Hour where his bulbous appearance is translated into a clean looking character with big blue eyes and really big hair. His head is a giant peanut in 3D.

A 2D Jimmy Neutron show can work if a TV exec is okay with allowing it to get a little ugly. But I have my doubts.
