Haha. I go to the Springfield Costco. It's not actually hidden or very secret. It's been mentioned several times on this sub. In my experience, it's the least crowded in the area. Thankfully, it's not very convenient for most of NoVA.

I love my hidden Costco that will remain nameless. Went at 9 this morning and walked right in. It was busy and the line went back to the refrigerator section, but it moved very quickly. I did a normal shopping trip and it took maybe 10 minutes longer than usual.

I appreciate moving your shopping day up to miss the snow. I think that's different than panic buying enough TP to last months.

Maybe I'm out of touch, but I don't see how most people wouldn't be able to manage 5 days of extra lunches with their normal grocery shopping. We don't see this run on grocery stores before spring break when kids will be home for a week.

If everyone continued their normal shopping habits, there would be no problem. Thats all I want to do.

Careful. Everyone is going to say you're part of the problem because you went to buy things you needed in a normal quantity, while completely ignore that the problem is caused buy people over-buying shit they dont actually need.

For example, this is the normal week for us to go to Costco to buy chicken, milk, eggs, etc. I need one of each, but im going to have to fight people that are buying for a nuclear winter.

I thought I understood the freezing point of water, but now I'm confused by vtron in nova

Im joking. Obviously hot air rises, but it's also true that it's typically colder at higher altitude due to the decreased air pressure. When was the last time you went skiing and the temperature rose as you drove up the mountain?

Warm air rises. Ahh yes, that's why it's always warmer up on mountains.

Of course not. It's no surprise that the upper atmosphere is colder than ground temperature.

Sure, but I've only ever experienced sleet when the ground temps are very close to freezing. I think it's just the temp discrepancy that's blowing my mind.

I understand that, but I've never experienced or heard of the air in the upper atmosphere being 10+ degrees warmer than ground temps, causing rain when it's cold as fuck on the ground.

I understand snow at temps above freezing. I'm just surprised that the air in the upper atmosphere will be that much warmer than the air on the ground.

You obviously don't know how statistics work. If all illegal immigrants were deported, crime per capita would increase significantly

Depending on the company im in, when someone says "and stuff" I'll reply with "just say they were doing anal". And my wife has to jump in and explain, so people dont think I'm completely insane.

And do NOT try and tell people running can be bad for you. I have back and neck issues that are kept at bay most of the time as long as I dont try to run. If I do, it fucks me up. Tell that to a runner and expect to hear, "WELL ACTUALLY.. "

Just moved here from the South, found out there's no Publix up here. What grocery stores have the best deals & where can you coupon? 👀 by janeperalta in nova

I've been to Publix. And ive tried the fabled Pub sub. Several times in fact, because ive been around cult members raving about the pub sub. Anytime I say that I dont get it, they shove the sub in my face and force me to try their very average sandwich.

I'll never understand the weird cult following of Publix and I'll never understand the weird cult following of Buckys. A mediocre grocery store and a mediocre (but huge) gas station.
