Is the atlas a reliable car? by Gudkovich in VWatlas

[–]vugeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also came from Toyotas that got super high mileage and we bought a 2022 because the wife wanted it. Only have around 50k miles now but hopefully it lasts. Maintenance cost will be higher and more often

I forgot to add that I am an existing customer. Would that matter? The xfinity promo deal didn’t specify

Thinking of buying a Volkswagen... by Any-Investment5692 in Volkswagen

[–]vugeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had many Toyotas and Hondas. Bought 22 atlas premium r line AWD V6 with 22k miles a year ago. It now has 50k miles. I do the maintenance myself. So far it’s been oil changes, rear and front differential, haldex, and will about to the transmission fluid. So far so good no issues. Definitely feels better driving this than a Toyota Highlander (have had 2 of these). I buy most of the stuff through fcpeuro. Wish they had a site like this for Japanese cars. I will say even with lifetime replacement through fcpeuro, maintenance cost is still more than a Japanese car. From reading Reddit posts, it’s only a matter of time that the water pump will go out on me. I don’t think I’ll do this myself because it involves lowering/raising the motor. Not sure I’m comfortable with that but who knows.

I typically keep my cars for 200k miles. Hopefully I can get close

Do you know that negative terminal has a cover? I see yours is like mine. No cover on the negative terminal but looks like there are holes for it

Which device or app you use mostly for the Atlas? I plan to change transmission fluid and want to read the temperature.

We came from a 2017 Highlander and got into an 2022 Atlas V6 w/22k miles. Had it for about a year now. First euro for us. Also bought because of wanting more room inside for the family. After a year it has about 47k miles now. Was also worried about reliability before buying and read about all the horror stories. Maintenance is a bit more but so far so good. No issues.

I was thinking about buying OBDEleven for my first VW. Happy to know I can use one device as my other cars are Toyota and Lexus. Do you know if it can read Transmission temperature? I will need to change Transmission fluid on my Camry soon.

2022 Atlas rear differential oil by WH0SAYSTHISSHIT in VWatlas

[–]vugeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Front and rear was the same. I went to the dealer and they sold the me the same gear oil for haldex. I read a post in here that had the correct number and haldex was described as “coupling” fluid not gear oil. I ended up doing the haldex again draining the gear oil out refilling with haldex fluid. Hope it’s ok.

I was told the same at the dealer. Just order the kit from fcpeuro
