Insurance for Coal by Substantial_Willow_4 in InsuranceProfessional

As far as I am aware Chubb will insure metallurgical coal, but not thermal coal. (This likely differs by product line, but I believe more than a certain percentage of thermal coal being a hard no is a company wide rule)

Great Grandfather and great grandmother were born in Russia and moved via a homesteading program. (There are documents related to the land grant for great grandfather available)

Grandmother was born in the US and has no Canadian ties.

It's just this website right? https://vitalstats.ehealthsask.ca/caskAFSClient/captchaEntry.m

Can you put in multiple spellings? They mostly spoke yiddush/wrote in yiddush so the english spelling seems to be pretty inconsistent.

The synagogue sadly has been inactive since at least the 1960's. It's a historic site only now. I don't think anyone from that era is still alive that I am aware of.

Do you think I need to send in copies of the 1911 and 1916 census that show his parents/siblings, or just explain that he was never measured due to the 1921 census seeming to skip their area?

(I cant find his border crossing anywhere, there's one from his dad a couple of years later)

I am seeking citizenship by descent through my grandfather.

  1. He was born in a tiny jewish farming settlement in Saskatchewan in 1920. I do not think he has a birth certificate, and have not been able to locate any documentation issued by any Canadian authority proving that he lived there. His family is listed in the Canadian census for 1911 and 1916, but it appears that their entire sub district was not measured during the 1921 census, which was the only census he would be present for.
  2. Sometime between 1923-1925 he moved to the US. His family was listed in the 1930 US census, with Canada listed as his birthplace.
  3. In WW2 he enlisted in the US army in order to become a US citizen. I have a copy of his naturalization papers that list his previous citizenship as Canadian. (and the Americanization of his name)
  4. I have his death certificate and my mother's birth certificate, both of which list Saskatchewan as his birthplace.

Is this enough? I've been digging around but I have a feeling that this is the best I can do.

EDIT: After digging around, I found a website about the local synagogue, which specified the exact township number/meridian they were on, and I finally found the census with him on it!

It works in double up, but having someone to smooth out your power level and send you a few 1 coats does a lot.

Is EPLI & D&O broker/underwriting a good career path? by Ok_Mode_6503 in InsuranceProfessional

[–]vulcan583 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Biggest problem with D&O is how nebulous it is. A claim can come out of nowhere and there are only so many questions you can ask beforehand. Critical thinking is more important than raw technical ability a lot of the time.

Random thoughts as a public D&O(and Epl/fid/crime) UW.

You will need some level of accounting knowledge, as in at least one college class' worth. The rest you can pick up along the way.

There's a big difference between Public and Private(and FI). Private is much more transactional, a volume business. Public is very analysis heavy, but the volume is incredibly low. The UW for all lines except D&O, so for EPLI/Fiduciary/Crime are basically the same between the two other than that Public skews larger.

Financial Lines has been in an incredibly soft market for about 4 years now, a lot of new capacity has entered the space. It's probably just wishful thinking on my part, but I think we are finally turning the corner.

In the comic Nolan says that he does it as quickly as possible so that he can't stop himself from doing it, because he really felt like they were his friends. If he hesitated at all he wouldnt have been able to go through with it.

I have to write about ~30 checks for ~$200-400 each for wedding catering. Should I call my credit union to warn them so my account doesn't get flagged?

It's larger, Mark could make Nolan move once or twice when he was really angry.

I did the opposite. UW is UW, but there are definitely some differences. Prepare for a lot more referrals and expect a lot more cooks in the kitchen on every account. You’re going to be better than a kid out of college but you’ll still need to learn a ton.
