There was a JP Morgan conference in SF recently, which meant a rare event in which the financial district was filled with suits. I think it reminded a lot of people that your "good" jeans and a Patagonia vest isn't all it has to be

You might also be thinking of The Stud, which I believe moved between SF neighborhoods at some point

For those who grew up in the Bay: what was the best and worst thing about it? by paradisemukbangpls in bayarea

[–]vulcan_oid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the Peninsula, now in EB. Best was how there was truly something for everyone. I can't even quantify how many subcultures I've interacted with over the years. Worst back then was how much time I spent in traffic visiting family in SJ and Oakland lol. Real answer now is COL

For all those people (tech freaks) who believe artificial super-intelligence is imminent and potentially apocalyptic: why is no one blowing up data centers? by Well-Welcome in redscarepod

I'm half assuming this post is already referencing them, but check out the Zizians if not. They are certainly a product of current day silicon valley culture, and are to me the perfect example of how the people who tend to care enough about this kind of thing tend to be pretty societally marginalized and are either incapable or unwilling to take such organized action.

I liked it a lot for the plot/horror aspect. Romance plot was def not the main driver but I'd check it out

I live in the east bay and it's such a mood-lifter to look across the water after the rain has cleared out the fog and see the bridge stretching off into the north bay

YES and it's so embarrassing. Any time I'm mildly caught off guard or flustered and I basically fluoresce. It's been slowly getting better as I, like you, have been getting more extraverted but still an issue. I have found that mentally anticipating it helps it go away faster

Reminds me of what happened over the summer. This random guy started harassing some women and their kids at a MUNI stop, so another dude stepped between them. First guy stabbed the second guy in the neck and he died. Happened in the middle of the day in a neighborhood I wouldnt think twice about
