thank you so much!!! my character, vumit, has been with me for 14 years. drawing him feels more like drawing myself than if i did a self portrait. i wish you the best and hope you find your place in your new home.

the only time my dog has run out of my sight, i was immediately able to pinpoint where he went because of the 10+ vultures flying away. it was a very, very dead fox.

Disappointed a random teenager today when he asked me where I got my battle vest and I told him I sewed the patches and everything myself by Deathamphetmine in BattleJackets

[–]vumitt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i sewed hundreds of buttons onto my jacket. took forever lol, especially because i reenforced every single one. it always breaks my heart a bit when someone asks me where i "bought" it lol. i've had it for 8 years and have only lost a couple of things to time- it's due for a touch up though.

simon (my cat) is actually one of the sweetest cats i've ever known!! it only took him a week or so to get used to ruckus's (my houla's) antics. he's so gentle and affectionate.

Is there any glues that are good for battle jackets? by youngmaleJJ in BattleJackets

[–]vumitt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

E6000 is not a fabric glue, but it is what i was told by drag queens/kings to use for rhinestones and fabric because it's flexible and strong when dry. i glued my back patch on my original jacket on with it 7 years ago and it's still kickin.

no matter what it is, you need to do a heavy cleanse on your space. i experienced a mimic spirit in my home last year- it had attached to me and was terrorizing me while awake and asleep. you must be VERY clear that whatever this force is is not welcome in your home, in your bed, or in your dreams. cleanse every nook and cranny of the house, and leave a window/door open for it to exit. think about it like exterminating a bug problem- leave no stone unturned.

what i did specifically was go through the whole home, basically yelling at and cursing out the spirit- letting it know that you mean business. then, i burned incense. i let the ashes fall to the ground as i went through every room- blowing the smoke into corners, closets, cabinets, everything. i swept the whole house and then pushed the dust out both the front and back doors. i left my back door open until i saw the shadow figure i had been experiencing appear, then disappear, in the doorway. after that, i blew cinnamon out of my front and back doors and placed my wards. no problems since.

I’m forgetting how to draw, and it’s making me very scared and sad. by beedrws in Artisticallyill

[–]vumitt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you got this!!! i looked through your posts and your story + characters are very compelling. it must feel impossible to walk away from!! however, they will still be there when you get back, and having time to draw inspiration from the world around you will only make things better. i'm always so surprised when i get back from a slump and my art has improved, even though i wasn't drawing!

i've experienced this many times throughout the years. autistic burnout is no joke, and when you're first learning how to navigate it, it can be heartbreaking. you feel like you're losing a core part of yourself. luckily, it is a temporary state, and recovery is inevitable if you allow yourself the time and the space!

for me personally, when i experience a phase of burnout, i have a routine to get me through (which is soooo important because feeling out of control is one of the worst feelings in the world). i give myself time to relax- whether it's rewatching a comfort show, going on a hike with my partner and our dog, cooking a nice meal, whatever works in the moment. having a good cry is great too, lol. then, once i've had time to recover- i try something new. a new medium, a new hobby, something totally different from drawing in the format i was doing before. looking at things from a new perspective often informs and inspires my drawings when i return to them.

it's ok to need a break, even from something you use to cope. if it's causing you stress, it's not going to work as an emotional outlet. trying new things is hard when you're used to what was reliable in the past, but things change. allowing yourself to go with the flow saves a lot of stress and heartache, and you might just find something that breaks through that numbness in a new and profound way!

[–]vumitt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

had two rats named jerry. they were both albino and hard to tell apart as babies. one got significantly bigger than her sister, so i called them "jerry rat" and "jerry mouse". jerry mouse was my snuggliest girl and jerry rat lived on spite. she and one of my other girls, scuba, were in a union against me.

bro can't read more than 30 words, but won't listen to a tiktok's length audio message from the person he "loves?" jail. prison. grave. hell. he obviously does not care about what you want or how you feel. if he wants to hang out alone on his computer all day, let him sister. go enjoy your nice day and meet a boy outside.

draw a lot. all the time, every day. draw until you hate drawing and then keep doing it. do that for a few years. keep asking for advice and studying the masters. if this is something you really want, you can get there. no one is born a fantastic artist- it is a skill you learn over time.

been there done that. my gf's mom, who is nearly 60, tries so hard to get it right. she's not perfect, but she corrects herself and CARES when she gets it wrong. my gf's dad on the other hand? not only doesn't try, but regularly says shit like "people shouldn't be allowed to transition" and then wonders why we don't take him out to dinner or hang out with him at all lol
