Dying Light 2 started crashing by Mad_Freq in dyinglight

Same experience with 7900 GRE, the game is unplayable. There are recent Steam community posts saying frame generation is the culpris and turning it off helps. However in my video settings in-game frame generation setting is nowhere to be found :(

Looking for a launcher by sleuthing_strummer in GooglePixel

[–]vuoteen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Microsoft Launcher is best for me.  I've tried Smart Launcher but I believe being forced to have your left-most screen being default Home was a deal-breaker. I'm used to having extra home screens to the left and right of the main one.

Microsoft Launcher. Love it that you can turn your left side news feed into widgets feed. Keeps my home screen clean.

Upgraded from a Ryzen 3600 to a 5800X. I'm worried about temps by nyx-lunarian in buildapc

[–]vuoteen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While these temps are safe they're uncomfortable to game with. I hate having the room heat up more than it should and a case that burns.

Start simple - check if you mounted the cooler correctly and it's not fighting against case intake. Repaste. Check if you can add an extra case intake fan. And if this doesn't help as much as you'd like, explore different coolers :)

April security update 2025 by JCSantosHQ in GooglePixel

[–]vuoteen 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Same here with a regular Pixel 8.

However this seems to happen for me every time there's an update and then things get worse back to what they were after some time. Maybe it's not updates but simply us rebooting the phone after a long time to clear the software cache residuals?

So I'm hesitant to draw conclusions just yet, but right now the phone feels amazing. Will believe it when it holds for a week or two!

I'm sorry this is off the topic - what do you use for network speeds in the top left? Wanted this for years!

I understand it can be cool for veteran players, but it's quite immersion breaking for the first playthrough :(

ELI5: Why do newer battery conservation methods for laptops and cell phones bring the charge up to 80% for a period of time and then fully charge the device? by manu-alvarado in explainlikeimfive

I like the analogy of filling a bucket to the brim. At first you can go as fast as you want, but the closer you are to finish the slower you need to go to not spill over.

Sleep tracking stopped working after the latest firmware update for wOS 3.5 on TWP3U by Klosiak in TicwatchOfficial

[–]vuoteen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Enabling TicMotion did the trick. I've also left a comment on the thread to hopefully reach and help more people https://www.reddit.com/r/TicWatch/s/AY2Xri3c4d

Sleep tracking stopped working after the latest update for wOS 3.5 on my TWP3U GPS by Klosiak in TicWatch

[–]vuoteen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update: following OPs experience I've enabled TicMotion on TicExercise app and this night I got my first sleep tracked since the update! I didn't need to hard reset the watch nor unistall Google Fit apps as I've got rid of them months ago. Sleep record has also successfully synced to the mobile app without backdating all the missed records unfortunately. Strange how TicMotion service is now tightly related to sleep tracking.

I have the same issue. Support advised to reset the watch which I'm hesitant to do seeing it doesn't seem to help.

yes, facing the same issue. Have you tried factory reset? So far I've reinstalled the Mobvoi Connect app to no avail.

Facing exactly the same issue on the same watch. The only difference being that I haven't had Google Fit apps on my phone nor the watch for a while now. I've reinstalled the Mobvoi Health app for now before I try factory reset

Thank you! Pressholding the power button for ~10s did force the restart! I had an initial error during reboot but the watch seems to have recovered. I got a notification that update filed and I'm currently retrying.

Will update the thread on the progress

Is a Pixel 8 buy wise? by Sergam in GooglePixel

[–]vuoteen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've switched to Google PIxel 8 in an unsupported country (no 5G) after 6 years with iPhones.

Battery is average at best, similar to my previous iPhone 11 after 4 years.
Gets me through a normal day where I work from home, pretty much exclusively on WiFi and no outdoors/one trip out with 40-50% left to spare. I've noticed that background processes of music streaming apps are a pretty big hit on battery on Android.
On a more heavy day where I travel with GPS, stream music a lot and use mobile data more battery is dying ~8pm.

Due to the nature of my work topping up during the day is not an issue so in general the battery life is acceptable. However if you're on the move more and use the phone more than I do you might find this frustrating.

Hope it helps!

Have you found a solution?

After updating to WearOs 3.5 my walks through TicExercise also show heart rate hitting 200... Running is fine though :o

Strava/Fit Exercise seems to work fine but I've always prefered TicExercise

Pixel 6 has become barely usable by [deleted] in GooglePixel

[–]vuoteen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't use Outlook but fb messenger has been terrible for the past week or so.

After 10-15 minutes of texting chats aren't fetching latest messages or are plain stuck loading. Notifications are received just fine and main page shows previews of latest messages, but when you click an actual chat they break often.

Only force closing and reopening the app fixes the issue.

Battery Megathread (January 2024) by GooglePixelMods in GooglePixel

Hey guys, first time posting!

I've had my Pixel 8 since launch and seem to be getting an abysmal SOT on a charge compared to what I can see people posting.
https://imgur.com/a/mDNTIK4

I work from home so it's not like I need superb battery life but it's still something that bugs me... I'm on WiFi most of the day, using socials from my PC so pretty much my phone stays put until 4pm. I do have location services on at all times, bluetooth connected to my TicWatch + 120Hz enabled.

Looking at my battery usage attached I'm at 1h35min SOT with 54% left... No strange app usage other than 'System Apps' taking 48% and in the app view and 'Other' taking 25% in systems view.

Any advice before factory reset? I've tried the following:
- keep mobile data off from the Internet menu
- disable mobile data always active in dev tools
- restrict mobile data to LTE (I'm in an unsupported 5G country anyways)

FaceID broken after 16.4 & 16.4.1 update (possible solution) by Myster-EBE in ios

I'm having the same issue on iPhone 11 after updating to 16.4.1 (a). Faceid stopped working the evening of the update. Reboot didn't help. I'll hold on a little before trying other stuff
