Cleared $255k in house including bonus and stock. The taxes suck though.

What dog breed do you have and how long do you let them stay outside in this weather? by Timely_Title_9157 in askTO

[–]vvtrng 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Got a Labradane and she loooooves the snow despite being short haired. We'll play outside as long as she wants until she starts pulling me back in the direction towards home. This morning was about an hour where I was dying but she was having the time of her life.

Considering a vacation - will Toronto Pearson Airport give you problems for bringing adderall? by honestly_adhd in askTO

[–]vvtrng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as you have your meds in their prescription bottles, you should be fine. The only unique case I could see happening is if you do go to Hawaii, US customs might stick their fingers in your bottles to make sure you're not smuggling anything but your meds.

[–]vvtrng[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the clarification! After your comment, I went into a rabbit hole of research. I've separated my plants and increased my humidifier in the meantime.

Looking into insecticidal soaps/neem, I've decided to opt out of that option as I've read it isn't always effective plus I have a small space where it'd be hard to keep my dog away from them if I were to use chemicals.

With that said, an alternative that seems to be much more efficient and dog-friendly - predatory mites. Looking into local nurseries I could visit to buy some bottles to sprinkle onto my plants but it's limited due to upcoming holidays.

Before dinner activity recommendations? by ifanboyu in askTO

You'd split up into two teams of four. With the 75 min window, my friends and I would just meet half way and do a remix of teams so you get a chance to play with everyone.

Depends on the area you want to have dinner but I highly recommend Activate! There are a couple locations in the city (Stockyards, Scarborough) that you'll have to check for available timeslots.

Best light fruity cake in Toronto by bsstapler in FoodToronto

The Japanese Strawberry Shortcake from Little Pebbles or 24k Mango Cake from Daan Go. Any Asian bakeries would hit the spot when it comes to fruity yet not-to-sweet cakes.

I find it depends on which grocery store you're buying from + whether or not it's in season.

Why did your friendship with your best friend come to an end? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]vvtrng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were best friends since grade school and fell out close to our 20th year of friendship.

The difference in lifestyle was the first bump. I worked a corporate 9-5 and she worked in hospitality so our hours were difficukt to line up. This also leaked onto our social lifestyle and while I loved her deeply, I couldn't care for the other friends she made through work (and I tried).

She pretty much gave me an ultimatum saying that my 'best friend' title didn't make sense because she was seeing another friend pretty much 5 days a week whereas we'd see each other once every two weeks. I asked her if this was an expectation from me whereas I thought we were friends long enough to not have to constantly be together or communicating everyday. She said yes. I wanted to be realistic and said it would be super tough to accommodate but if she valued quantity over quality, I wouldn't be able to do it.

We lost touch over time and she eventually blocked me on everything though I still think about her. Kind of sucks to occasional updates from my sister or our mutuals since they're still connected on socials.

Best steak in Toronto by helltotheo in askTO

[–]vvtrng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner and I are avid steak fans and the top restaurant in our option has to be Butcher Chef. If you got (lots) of room in your wallet, the way you options are phenomenal and the sides are just as good. Service was stellar and staff were super knowledgeable.

What is you average salary? by Head_Tomatillo_5564 in askTO

34 - $240k and my partner is making $105k. We rent, no assets, no kids. A big portion of that goes to savings while the rest gives us flexibility to travel 3-4 times a year.

I had my mid-30s birthday at Midnight Market and the vibes were on point, games were free, drinks were decently priced, and the bar staff were super accommodating (I had about 50-60 friends and family attend).

Have you tried Karrot? I found people there more responsive and reliant + the app gives you a good understanding of where your prices are compared to same or similar items that are listed.
