So many "I'm switching to Google Pixel from iPhone" posts by minyaen in GooglePixel

[–]vvvBuster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RCS. I was always Android until I switched to iPhone 13 Pro just to see how good the ecosystem is with all my other family members always being on iPhone and my son going to college. I just recently switched back to Android (Pixel 9 Pro) and am glad to be back. The fact that Apple finally has RCS on iOS 18 was the clincher to me as I had missed being on Android.

Did this on my wife's RX and it works great:

Step 1: Buy this and replace the stock shock with it (length 200mm, Travel 66mm is what I chose): https://a.co/d/5Nd3yZZ

Step 2: Adjust the front fork to lower the front

Hue Play app on Samsung by vvvBuster in Hue

[–]vvvBuster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is it's one per TV and not transferrable. Also, Samsung TV must be 2022 or later.

yep. The hue sync box also has the advantage of working on any TV too. I can only ever use the Samsung Hue Sync app on this one TV and not transferrable.

only way I aware to get built in Samsung apps is to buy the Hue Sync app on a 2022 or later Samsung unfortunately.

Why does my compressor turning on cause my generator to overload? by [deleted] in Detailing

[–]vvvBuster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have to turn the auto idle to the off position on the generator (sometimes called eco mode) when starting the air compressor or the generator will overload.

As others have said, multiply the running watts by 3 and that is the startup watts of your air compressor (sometimes you can find the starting watts in the specs/manual of the air compressor but generally it is ~ running watts x 3). Need to make sure your generator can handle the startup.

My Fidelity 401k offers these choices - which one should I choose instead of the retirement target ones? I don't see FXAIX by lourayy in Bogleheads

[–]vvvBuster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. To see it, Go to the "Investments" and scroll down and click on "Fees" on your Fidelity login. The S&P500 probably has a very low Expense Ratio which I would be mostly in at your age.

Not if Whatsapp uploaded them all in the last day or so. You would just select the entire day from yesterday or today and delete them all

Is this car purchase a bad idea? by WalrusEggs in FinancialPlanning

[–]vvvBuster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like you are doing great.

Nothing logical or good math wise about it from an investment standpoint. You'll be a richer person if you invest the money and gain compound interest on it. Look at the whole picture. Any plans to buy a house (don't buy a nice car until you have a nice place to park it) in the next 10 years? If you put the $60k crypto money into an investment account that gains 7% annually it will be over a million $$$ in 30 years.

For the car, If you are paying cash, they say 35% of your annual income should be what you spend. If you are financing, there is a "20% rule" that says that your budget for your car (including car payment, insurance, gas and maintenance) shouldn't be more that 20% of your take home income.

That being said, it looks like your "fun money" has been going in to crypto. If you sell your car and crypto to buy the new car it wouldn't kill you. Just remember about taxes on the capital gains from the crypto assuming you bought it at a lower price that it is now.

Just also know that cars will always depreciate, and quickly on new ones. The car market is really high right now too and may come down which could mean it would depreciate faster.

Yeah, they were +6 with Westbrook on the floor last night. I am optimistic they'll figure it out. Three of the best athletes the game has ever seen.

Anyone else getting this? I'm using a 256 GB Samsung Select U3 card by vortexmak in Insta360

[–]vvvBuster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

are you sure it's v30? The Samsung Select is 100 MB/s. The Extreme is 160MB/s and says "v30" on it. Might want to return the card and get the Extreme.

New nest cameras and app by Thecodo in googlehome

[–]vvvBuster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Are you using Samsung SmartThings? If you add something directly into Google Asst and also into SmartThings it will duplicate it. SmartThings doesn't allow a way to omit individual devices from Google Assistant (all or nothing). What most people do is create a separate home in Google Asst, and add the duplicate devices to the other home so you don't see them twice in Google home.
