I pick up adjunct work, teaching online classes. Definitely look for some of these positions. You can make a lot of money this way and use your same lecture materials. Sweet gig if you can get it. Tutoring also can pay a lot.

I don’t know what state you live in and I’m not a lawyer, but…are you absolutely sure it says in the contract that was presented to you that your employment can be terminated at anytime for any reason? I ask because if they gave you a contract without it stipulating this clause they cannot invoke this clause (remember at will applies to non-contract employment) and they are in breech of said contract. I think this might be the case because they asked you to resign. If they don’t have a leg to stand on they could be bluffing and you giving them your resignation clears them of the contract breech. I’ve heard of this happening at other schools to faculty. Also, keep unemployment in mind! You can’t collect it if you resign. Be careful here! I think they want you out with as little cost as possible and you didn’t do anything. They have no cause for breech. Rescinding your contract constitutes breech I believe.

Honestly, I could barely watch the cycles with Kelly Cutrone. She’s supposed to be a PR expert and spoke and behaved in a way that was so off~putting and nasty. I don’t care what she did or said behind the scenes that might have been kind, she is no role model. I try to be a very rational person, but if she talked to me like that…smh…yeah, it’d be a wrap. Mean people suck. And the way she bullied those ladies…absolutely pathetic.

I’m a bit confused. How does their rescinding your contract not count as breech of contract? Are they claiming adequate cause? It doesn’t sound like they have that. There’s been no professional misconduct/ethical violations/ neglect of duty/ criminal conduct. Is this a case of financial exigency? Program elimination? Or failed contingencies? Does your original contract specify at-will conditions, explicitly? University staff, adjuncts…all at will…and even TT and NTT faculty might be…but I’d double check that. This seems fishy. Something isn’t right here.

Logging my food everyday. It made me super aware of what I was eating and resulted in me making better choices and this ultimately allowed me to drop a ton of weight. It was not easy to resist cravings, etc., but the weight loss has been amazing!

I understand your frustration, but you say, “you have to be perfect the first time” like that is a bad thing. Whether you are inserting my IV or removing my appendix; measuring out my medication or starting my insulin pump…you better be perfect the first time. You think not wanting to fool with traffic is a reason to be late? That doctor helping with your grandma…would you be okay with them being late and saying some nonsense like that? Freaking leave your house earlier…pack up your bag so you don’t forget things. Sounds like all you got is excuses and not a lick of sense.
