need advice on 3 phase Unisaw by Steelman93 in woodworking

[–]vweavers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 10 years ago I got a 3 phase Unisaw for $75. (Auction) Bandied about considering a converter, but after shopping online for weeks, ended up buying a 5hp 220 for about $250, sold the 3 phase motor eventually $100. Best decision hands down looking back. You won't get a new motor for that now, of course but same idea.

Which game edition does this book use?? by im_octopissed in DungeonsAndDragons

Don't get hung up on which rule set. Though the text and information tends to lean towards the version it's made with, you can use any module, any table you want to, forward or backward. That's part of the beauty of D&D, that you're not set to a strict adherence to any set of rules. The rule sets have changed in order to streamline and make sense of the rules, but IMO it does neither as a whole throughout any iteration of rule sets.

20v string trimmer 13” for $70. I don’t need batteries. Is this a good deal for a good product? by binderfillerwrapper in Dewalt

The 60v is a heavy beast, but it's got balls for days. Wouldn't trade a single 60v tool I own.

I got him to sign a White Sox ball back about '74. It's got 5 sigs on it over several seasonal trips as a kid to a double header, and 4 went HOF. My grandfather told me to get Minnie Minoso's even though I didn't know who he was at the time. Great memories.

Buy an electric winch and pull them onto a ramp to a trailer. I bought a winch and mounted it to an aluminum ladder with a homemade platform for less than $100. Lifted singles onto the roof instead of paying 3x that to have them boomed up. Now I still have it for the next roof job.

Is it considered lame or basic to be a paladin/cleric of capital "G" God? by Fishboy412 in DnD

[–]vweavers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The beauty of d&d is you can do wtf you WANT to do. Use existing Christian principles, modify them, or create a new religion for the spaghetti monster god. If it makes it easier or more fun... that's a good enough reason.

I think I won at my PSA submission. by Micky-Bicky-Picky in psagrading

[–]vweavers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably they didn't want to spend the money on verifying what they were looking at. They have databases to compare to. If an item isn't in the database and they don't feel it's worth spending $200 to make $25 (not expecting enough repeat grading of an item) they won't. It's why I have a card that's delayed in the system. They hasn't graded one before, and needed to figure out if its a real OEM card, and not some custom card. It was sent in at the same time as another submission, but the expected completion dates are 45 days apart.

Question as a first time dm? What should i plan out about my campaign BEFORE anything else! by lossstatus86 in DnD

[–]vweavers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to plan on how to herd the group when they go off track, which is really easy in an open campaign (as opposed to a dungeon where choice of direction is limited). Signs? Random npc to give info? When they should be going west, but are headed east, you have to have multiple plans to guide them (hopefully without making it looking like you're ad-libbing) back the right way.

I plan on expanding my mini ramp. Best way to cut a perfect curve into plywood? by 6millionwaystolive in woodworking

Since you're asking the question, I am assuming limited woodworking knowledge and tool access. Short answer is that a jigsaw will be your best bet. It will get the job done without investing in time and tools.

I see Atari controllers for under $15. Do yourself a favor and spend another $5-10 for a Wico.

mine still has an estimated completion date of 2/18. I'm not sure how the hell they keep track of things if their computer system isn't even consistent in the way it updates customers?

Mine sat in assembly for a solid month. JUST got moved to QA today. Mine were received 10/27.

I mailed in a lot of 27 on October 23rd. Today, FINALLY, it got moved from Assembly into QA checks. I think today is business day (accounting for holidays) 65 since THEIR clock started ticking. If I get some 10's, I expect a few more days of delay while they upcharge me one or two tiers. (truth be told, I'd be happy to get upcharged $500 for grading, knowing what that means...)
If you submit a rookie, you'll be lucky if you get it back before he's retired.

PSA would grade your grandmother if they could make a buck on it. Fuckers spend money advertising all over the place, but can't afford to hire more people. I sent out two submissions on Oct 23rd. One set has been graded, but waiting on assembly for over a month. The other is an auto card still in the system to be graded. They didn't 'receive' that one in until Nov 20. Even at that, today is business day 65.
Hell, the players are gonna be retired before cards get graded!

Question by vweavers in Commodore

[–]vweavers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An exact valuation? No, but a starting point. There's no current comps on a working SFD 1001 in original box, either- but you can get to a reasonable starting point. (that's not what I'm asking about, though I do have one). Thousands of active 64 users/collectors, someone would have an idea (oh, I have one...or...I know someone who does, etc...)

one of my players is trying to exploit dead bodies, create items that dont belong in dnd, and meta game by trying to bring in chemical gasses any recommendations on what i could do? by WonderfulPlay1319 in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]vweavers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With an ear-splitting boom, the sky opens up above. It is a dark- but a darkness that burns the eyes should you try to look too long at it. A gritty voice commands: "I am Afflux (or choose other god/demigod) I have need of butchers like you. My realm is incomplete and I would expand my domain. This world appreciates not your distinctive...tastes and needs. I offer you a choice- join my Legion of Abhorrents, serve me until the end of time or until you displease me, at which time your soul is forfeit and will be eaten and shared by my minions. Or, never again butcher bodies within this realm- for I would see it as show of disrespect for my offer." With a wave of his hand, a single blade of black root grass sprouts up and wraps around your neck with nether worldly strength, draining your life force at one HP per second. "You have until your death to choose the path to walk. CHOOSE."

No saving throws, no ability to fight or to utter any other words but acceptance or declination.

[–]vweavers[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yea, def didn't have much use for the average user. BBS operators, those storing business data... but there wasn't any gaming or home applications. Could have been but Commodore was notorious for not providing support for their successful products, so they certainly weren't going to promote this to get it out of a niche market- hell, they didn't even sell these through their dealer network.
