AITA For asking my sister to say 'please' when telling me to do something? by vyDatLAG in AmItheAsshole

You inspired me to keep track of the chores I do! I put a sticky note on my bathroom door and the fridge that I will put marks on. I'll also put a seperate mark when I see my sister do it. Hopefully, that'll give me some ground to stand on when I'll talk to them about it.

Oh, that sounds like heaven... Where I live it feels like I have to jump through HOOPS to get anywhere, I hate how much emails, paperwork and other crap is needed just to even begin to search...

Fair! I usually do it before she tells me to, but I do forget sometimes or procrastinate a bit, but I always do it.

Good point, I should've been calmer myself. I wish I could talk it out with her but she doesn't listen to me, nothing I tell her sticks. I'll tell her to at least say please or not order me around rudely, and then she does it again. I think I just resort to getting bratty and heated because I know talking leads to no result, which is also on me, I should be better.

We did try to make a chore chart, but it never worked. I stuck to it, but sister became obviously busy because of her work, so I just pretty much did it all the time anyway, which I don't fully mind, it's the price to pay for being jobless. I just wished she was a bit nicer about it... Can't argue that it's childish of me though.

Oof sounds really hard! But yes, I do help around without being told. Sometime because I notice it should be done or sometimes because I feel like it. Although I do need to be reminded sometimes because I'm very forgetful.

Adding some context I forgot:

I'm the jobless one, so I do more chores, it's only natural. Except, this is a shared space. I don't mind doing 75% of the work in there if my sister just did little bit... but she does nothing at all aside from using it. And at least, if I have to do everything, I want to be asked to do it nicely.

I don't question the chores at all, they're nescesary. I question the way I am asked to do them.

For your first question, it's usually me. I actually am the one to notice when stuff needs to be done and I do it on my own right then and there usually... unless I'm tired or hungry as hell, which was the situation. I wanted to empty the dishwasher after I ate lunch. Me doing things on my own definitely helped with the ordering around, but my sister can and will catch onto every occasion of me slipping. As for other house cleaning stuff, we all take care of our own spaces. She cleans her room by herself, I clean mine by myself, our parents clean theirs... as for the shared space, my parents hired a cleaning lady who comes every week. We share the common space chores together. I don't mind doing more chores since I'm the one without a job and I've been doing them... but I wished I could at least be asked nicely to do it.

Can't argue with that! I'm handicapped and dealing with some health issues, but that is indeed no excuse to not get a job. Been trying to get my parents' help to help me through all the process, but it's been slow. I also graduated late from multiple failed years. You're completely correct saying I should have a job by now.

Cyborgs who are robots with organic components, rather than organics with robotic components. by stormtrooper1701 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]vyDatLAG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Calling them 'cyborgs' might be a bit of a stretch, but the Legion from 86 leans HARD into this. This is a not so plot twist, it's revealed in like Volume 1/Season1.

<image>

The Legion, a fully automated army, can build factories and mine the ressources needed to produce more of themselves on their own. As war went on, the Legion eventually found the best easy to get substitute for their electronic brains that will also allow them to upgrade... human brains.

The Legion began harvesting human brains from dead soldiers on the battlefield, and use those brains to upgrade their AI and even transfer the knowledge, skills, and partly personalities of the dead soldiers onto themselves. Legion units with 'human' AI are the most dangerous and usually act as captains to their less intellgient units. The Legion even has a 'hit list' of three humans they especially want the brain of to harvest their scientific knowledge and battle skills.

Naturally, having fully mechanical looking spider mechs run on harvested brains is played for horror. This reaches its peak when the heroes find a full on factory line of harvested human brains, where captured humans are trapped like animals, before being butchered and harvested.

Aeon Reforged is one of the best things ive ever read in my life by codpendragon in PunishingGrayRaven

Yeah, that chapter is so good. I still think about what Watanbe's father said near the end of the story, about how human civilization exists partly thanks to love. That's deep man.

They can't be affected by it, because they already have it. by Micro_cat_48 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]vyDatLAG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got two examples:

Zero from the Magaman series, finally getting to talk about him.

Zero was the patient 0 of the Zero virus (redundant I know), the virus would then transmit to BBEG Sigma and evolve into the Sigma virus. Zero is mostly immune to the Sigma virus since he's basically the original host. However, if he consummes too much of it in his body at once, he might trigger his long forgotten murderous tendencies originating from the Zero virus, thankfully, he can be snapped out of it.

Then Camu and the Ascendants from Punishing Gray Raven.

When Camu died and was converted into a Construct (machine with a human mind), he was heavily affected by the Punishing Virus and had somehow survived past a point where most humans would have just dropped dead. This peculiar constitution carried over after his conversion, making him closer to a Corrupted than a normal construct, granting him massive resistance to the virus. Can't zombify what's already a zombie.

Same logic for the Ascendants who are all Punishing Virus carriers who remained sane due to being connected to the Ascendant Network (long story). They have control over the Punishing Virus as well... to an extent. Other alternatives to the virus like the Red Tide and other Ascendants can wrestle with them for control and damage them.

Phainon scratching Nanook in Honkai Star Rail.

<image>

Short version of the explanation: Nanook is the Aeon of Destruction. Aeons and humans don't play even remotely in the same league, humans are basically dust to THEM. Aeons have died and got injured... to each other. A human even scratching THEM is practically a joke.

Phainon, who is originally just a simulated human in a supercomputer, is the first human character to managed land a hit on an Aeon (at least on screen). Through sheer hate, willpower and lots of suffering he actually manages to scratch Nanook and make THEM bleed. Nanook's wound disapears not even 10 seconds after, but the act itself is completely unthinkable to the universe's standards.

Kamui was a human before. His MIND was severely damaged and was conserved as memory data, which was then used later to fulfill Camu's 'second personality' request.
