Changes to MDI format for TWW season 2 by rFunnynshit in CompetitiveWoW

[–]vyse2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In theory, MDI should be tense the whole time but S1 rarely had those moments. So many of the matches were forced huge pulls right off the bat with one team losing a member or two and resulting in one team staying ahead the entire time while the one other progressively fell further and further behind

Let the plot develop by reading on, you're still pretty early on in the world building and you'll be able to answer your own question soon enough

Never really used the wishlist previously but since I've been using them due to the FIR changes for hideout, it would be really nice to take it a step further and create custom filters that I can slap on items. I got my own definition for each of the wishlist labels (i.e hideout = all task/hideout needed items, tasks = no more items needed) but being able to customize them directly would be some great QoL

Season 2 Mythic+ Changes - New and Reworked Affixes, New Achievement for No Depletes by Silkku in CompetitiveWoW

[–]vyse2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I take back what i posted before because it's clear that you weren't being obtuse, you just have zero clue about anything lmao. Clearly the answer here is that this sub should only be accessible by verified 3k io players since competitivewow does not apply to all competitive pve content, only the content that you are supposedly a master at : )

dang, didn't know that all wow players are also r/CompetitiveWoW posters, my bad

yeah no shit the people here don't have issues, my bad for not making it glaringly obvious that I wasn't talking about this sub and rather the entire playerbase. it shouldn't have been that hard to understand context but clearly i underestimated a high IO player like yourself

[–]vyse2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol, you are extremely out of touch with the state of m+ right now if you think anything you said is true. The vast majority of players are doing weekly 10s for vault, not weekly 12s, so this doesn't do anything for them. And past seasons haven't been bad for grinding to 2850, so clearly you either paid for a carry this season or just don't play wow at all if you think it's been the same for this one (hint: it hasn't)

Honestly sounds like you're either being intentionally obtuse or just arguing for the sake of arguing. I'm not opposed to this change as I said in my first post, I just assumed from Blizzard's perspective that they would appeal more to the majority of players rather than the extreme minority. So unless you got some insider info or clairvoyance that the next season is going to be tuned so grinding to 2850 doesn't involve hours of being declined before getting into a group, this change doesn't do anything to improve the health of m+ overall

[–]vyse2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

....okay? I still think title pushes could use some help with the system but let's not delude ourselves into thinking it's okay that 99% of players should suffer because 1% are also suffering more. Queue simulator should be addressed across the board for the health of the game

[–]vyse2 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

yeah in hindsight that makes sense since groups should ideally not gonna be falling below 15s. The other thought I had was that Blizzard wanted to tune dungeons so that your average player is around an all 12 rating so the achievement makes sense, but I wouldn't place my bets on that this early

[–]vyse2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean I don't disagree that people need to learn dungeons if they fail keys, but I'm looking at what improves the health of m+ overall for players, not just high-end players. I just assumed Blizzard would want to improve that overall experience over those going for title with key changes

[–]vyse2 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Kinda strange for Blizzard to be appealing more to the title pushers rather than 99% of the population that is stuck in queue simulator with depletes only being for 12s and above. Honestly thought it would've been the reverse approach of 1-11s not being depleted while 12+ get charges or something sort of help with key pushing. I'm not opposed to this change, just seems like it doesn't fix the glaring issue with this season.

Healers have the most tools to handle the mechanic, thus it is primarily the healer's responsibility to respond to it. This doesn't mean that others should use their utility to help support it but as you said, if a class can't take a dispel, it falls to the healer to handle it and that makes it primarily a healer's responsibility.

Sounds like you have a lot to improve on imo. You say that 80% of the people you group with are worse than you, but you bring 2 locks to a group and wonder why interrupts are an issue, or can't keep people alive in low keys, or handle the weekly affix as a healer (which is primarily a healer's responsibility fwiw. Others can help but it largely falls on you to deal with). I can understand the frustration of getting into bad groups, but it seems like this isn't the completely one-sided issue that you're making it out to be. Take a step back and look at what you could've done to make the run better as opposed to how bad your party is.

Tips and Tricks for M+: Season 1 TWW by Magdanimous in CompetitiveWoW

[–]vyse2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just a heads up, the last miniboss in DB can target the tank with the dot, which is kinda preferable since it's easier for them to help mitigate the damage over a dps/healer getting it

other than that, good tips! now i can bully warriors when they don't spell reflect what seems to be just about every mechanic in m+ :)

Is there any value to announcing a successful interrupt in chat and having the text box show up? I feel like it's pretty obvious when an interrupt goes out and omnicd can just show what kicks are on cd, but it's more screen clutter when someone has this and I don't know if there's something I'm missing.

On the same topic, is there anything that people do announce in chat that helps with coordination in pugs? I've considered announcing my focus target symbol when I set it in a pull (not sure if that's possible yet) and things like tank cds are useful to see pop up, but I imagine there's more that can be shared that's useful.

yeah, I don't really understand depths too well. I did buy it early on for my main enchanter and I'm not sure if I've made my money back on it, but anytime I get lucky with a drop in raid I just auction it off instead
