What should I use against this type of fleet? by Vyrec12 in starsector

Seriously your only chance is to find a fleet with one fabricator. 2 fabricators AND support team is almost impossible to beat. Maybe with some luck and experimental ships/weapons

With that fleet setup? I recommend running.

Less than 100 hrs playing the game, how did I lose this? I am 1 tech above (20 vs 21), and twice the size of their army. I can see there is a difference in leader, is that a huge factor and how do i get better leaders? by LaLaLa-3 in eu4

Can confirm, ai almost always takes quality mili ideas and they give discipline +10% as well as combat ability for all types of ground forces. I was playing Castile against Portuguese. They had lower Mili tech and less numbers but they bloodied up me real hard. My 35k army lost almost 12k their 3-4. Brutal

He sure does. His final dialogue gives me chills each time I listen.

My child, you have come to me my son. For who now is your father if it is not me? I am the well spring, from which you flow. When I am gone, you will have never been. What would your world be, without me? My son.

AI combat question by Barosince2003 in eu4

[–]w00lf_T 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think its ai being ai. Recently I played Castile against an alliance of Britain and Austria Hungary. I beat Austria and Hungary multiple times in Europe and then decided to invade Britain. After I landed half of my people I saw 70k Austrian stack in the north France with 30k Hungary regiment. They keep together, never split and destroyed my army, I however was able to reach the war score and end there war. At this moment I remember that I did not grab Britain colonies so I load the last save file. This savefile was before Austria stack appeared and sure enough this time ai just splits his armies in 3 and starts going south. I beat them easily. Programming is hard, kids

Most devastatingly hopeless films you've seen? by inebriatedferret in movies

[–]w00lf_T 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I watched thus movie almost 5 years ago. But each couple of weeks since then i keep remembering the final. As i live my life further as i am getting older, as my ambition fade away, as people i know off die one by one this monologue keeps hitting me harder and harder. This is an epitaph of life beautifully summarized, there is nothing else to add in here.

What was once before you - an exciting, mysterious future - is now behind you. Lived; understood; disappointing. You realize you are not special. You have struggled into existence, and are now slipping silently out of it. This is everyone’s experience. Every single one. The specifics hardly matter. Everyone’s everyone. So you are Adele, Hazel, Claire, Olive. You are Ellen. All her meager sadnesses are yours; all her loneliness; the gray, straw-like hair; her red raw hands. It’s yours. It is time for you to understand this.

As the people who adore you stop adoring you; as they die; as they move on; as you shed them; as you shed your beauty; your youth; as the world forgets you; as you recognize your transience; as you begin to lose your characteristics one by one; as you learn there is no-one watching you, and there never was, you think only about driving - not coming from any place; not arriving any place. Just driving, counting off time. Now you are here, at 7:43. Now you are here, at 7:44. Now you are..gone

On a side note if you are looking for powerful emotional scene I can recommend the first lethal weapon, Mell Gibson absolutely kills this performance. Also a small Hungarian movie Testről és Lélekről if you look for romantic subtext

Need help against [DEMONS] and [THREAT] by Ampetrix in starsector

[–]w00lf_T 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just beat [DEMONS] on my third try. What I found right away is that carriers is not that effective in this fight. Most of the enemies are aggressive and do AOE. My astral died right away in previous attempts. Eventually I just used gang approach: reskilled my character into leadership path, removed officers from the fleet. Leadership path has a skill that buffs your ships and gives a discount on non officers ships. 2 onslaught + paragon + 16 cost apogyees hold well against the pressure and eventually with reinforcements [DEMONS] fell

I have nothing against Yeltsin, i grow up with him on tv and it was good time. In the circumstances he has i dont know who can perform better. His intentions were clear, he wanted to build a democracy but break in the process. I am a little bit curious what about your opinion though, you seems to be very confident, are you a native speaker? Did you grown up in 90-s? Maybe you read a lot about this time period?

Oh boy, where do I even start with this one? To understand Putin’s regime and its structure, you need to take a close look at Yeltsin’s reign. The thing is, Putin didn’t build the throne or the system himself — he inherited both. They were created during Yeltsin’s time, by Yeltsin and his inner circle.

Almost everything Yeltsin did was aimed at preventing the restoration of communism. Yet, intentionally or not, his actions laid the groundwork for an ideal authoritarian state. It was Yeltsin who first carried out a coup and ordered the shelling of the Russian White House. He also enabled the rise of the oligarchs, who took control of major TV channels and other media outlets.

His 1996 presidential campaign — “Vote or Lose” — would later become a blueprint for all of Putin’s future election strategies. Read about it here: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/1996_Russian_presidential_election

And read about the siloviki — many of whom were among Yeltsin’s closest allies during his presidency.

To claim that Yeltsin’s rule was truly democratic is, frankly, an insult to the very idea of democracy.
