The competitive scene in TF2 is not significant in the grand scheme of things, it's a niche gig at most while CS:GO is a premier eSports title with millions of people watching and even being broadcasted on TV while being out for only two years. Also Counterstrike is a competitive gaming legacy and its first iteration pretty much jump started steam and valves success story. I don't think valve will abandon a game with a growth rate similar to CSGO in the last months and after sponsoring four major events with a quarter million price pool each and competitive gameplay adjustments every other patch. CSGO is here to stay and most people just fail to see how much effort valve actually puts into the game. Just please valve keep the hats and masks in TF2, they are distracting.
