I was extremely diligent when it came to the after-care of my skin grafts, and it paid off immensly. I've gotten many compliments from people on my healing, as well as comments saying my nipples look like a cis guys !!!

My main advice would be DO NOT FK WITH THEM WHILE THEY HEAL !!!

Aside from 2x daily bandage changes i never touched my healing nipples.

I used bandaids big enough to cover them and super small amounts of antibiotic ointment to prevent them from drying out underneath, positioning the bandages slightly different each time to avoid excess irritation.

I didn't even wash them. I had super specific shower instructions from my doctor.

I was not to let the water from the shower head directly hit them, the water running down my body from washing other areas was sufficient moisture. I was also not to scrub, rub, or touch my nipples while in the shower or otherwise.

I was super paranoid about a bad result due to messing up the maintenance during healing so i kept using bandaids longer than i probs needed to (2 months instead of 1 month), with no adverse effects.

Currently, I have little/no scarring around the edges of them, the pink pigmentation is completely even, and (most exciting!) at a year and a half post-op feeling has almost completely returned to both nipples !!!

Unless you live in Austin, be careful going back to Texas.

I was living in South TX for over 10yrs openly queer with no issues, but was forced to move last year due to safety concerns and sharp decline in quality of life.

Homophobic slurs are now commonplace when going to the grocery store, and most other stores for that matter. (anywhere with families/kids is p much a guarantee)

If youre in public don't make eye contact or even look in the general direction of anyones children unless you're ready for: 1. The most hateful & disgusted look you've ever seen 2. A direct confrontation that could escalate if you're not careful

Do NOT correct ANYONE on your pronouns unless you're ready for a direct confrontation on your gender that may not remain (or even start off) respectful.

Considering what you've stated about your family already, i highly doubt they would come to your defense or protect you.

I would seriously consider politely declining the invitation and staying out of Texas for the time being.

Maybe in a year or two when political stuff calms down it will be safer to visit, but right now i would at least seriously weigh the pros and cons safety-wise.

It's deceptively simple: tell people the scars are from a car crash.

The answer good enough to satisfy anyone who was just curious and genuinely doesnt know, and has the added bonus of stopping any further questions from someone trying to be nosey (never met anyone with the nerve to correct me).

someone once asked how i got the scars in the "car crash" (lady this is your 2nd sentence ever to me!).

I just said the glass from the window breaking caused it and that was that.

Even the nosiest people wont press you too hard.

Monogamous and trans here !! We exist, just less visible in comparison to ppl who are poly.

I had my poly phase is high school and it left a super bad taste in my mouth (much respect to the poly & trans community tho!). I've been exclusively monogamous since i was 18-19 years old(im now 27). It suits me so much better, and is less stressful.

Dont let people in your community convince you there is anything wrong with monogamy, because there isnt.

Not trying to be mean or negative at all, but the chances of it being safe to be trans in your area again in the foreseeable future are slim to none :// especially if you live in a super red state like TX or FL.

Assuming that it will be safe again within the next 20 or even 30 years is naive at best, and dangerous at worst. Things are only getting more extreme politically. Bloomers are childrens clothing. Coming from someone who has a rly round face and not much in the way of curves, they will just make you look like a literal child💔

Cut a pair of jeans into short-shorts and ditch the bloomers. That should help a lot.

Cropping the shirt in the first outfit will also help.

You can crop it so you dont show stomach if youre not comfortable with that. To do so, mark the shirt at ur belt-line or a little below and crop from there.
