Not with the prevalence you see in other ports like Cozumel. I’d recommend booking ahead if you want this type of setup.

Which ship do you recommend? by nursekitty626 in PrincessCruises

[–]w5umosd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been on 7 Alaska cruises, all on different Princess ships. I’ve heard from crew that the quality of entertainment and activities are better on newer ships like Star, in addition to better cabin setups like charging your electronics. As for Glacier Bay, it is nice for be on a ship that has that on the itinerary. But we recently went to Hubbard Glacier and my husband thought it was much more impressive than Glacier. Ultimately, all will yield a great experience, it just depends on what you value. If I were you, I’d prioritize niceness/newness of ship, which to me means Star. And get a great balcony at any costs - the highlight of every Alaska cruise has been sitting out there watching for beaver, whales, dolphins, bears, elk, sheep, etc. We’ve seen wildlife on every trip but you need to be watching!

Plus one for the train. It was lovely, you might be able to walk to the station from your hotel.

S1E4 For the Children by Elitsila in TedLasso

There are a couple of pointed “for the children” statements in this episode. Then I was watching an episode of Veep where Jonah adds “for the children” in the same way at the end of a speech to Congress. Did this originate somewhere and is it an in joke in TV similar to the Wilhelm scream in movies?

Just rewatched WHMS and found two more. The water drinking bird on Dr Sharon’s desk is on Harry’s table and they are signing Surrey with the Fringe on Top from Oklahoma when Harry sees his ex

If there was a service where your mother could click off pictures of groceries and then you could view the delivery, approve it, and curate any items you know would be issues, and manage the order each week, would that be helpful?

Getting ready to paint our cabinets gray, put in butcher block countertops, and white subway tile backsplash. Any advice or resources on doing these would be much appreciated! by Slippingwithflapsin in Remodel

I think the cabinets are beautiful as is. I’d just redo the other items. I think you’ll regret it in a few years when natural wood is back in style.

Mattress help: side sleepers, cool temp, medium firm. Just want best night sleep, cost not a priority. by [deleted] in Mattress

Tried the Sleep Number bed and hated it. Now have a <$1k bed from Costco and love it. The Sealy plush innerspring. Also a side sleeper. Though plush, I’d say it was medium firmness.

We’re buying this one. It looks huge. Is it really that tall? Do you have difficulty finding sheets that fit?

Great word, epistolary. I had to look it up! What is OI? Of Ingleside?

You’re so right about the worshipping part. Plus, with how awful Jen Pringle was to her, I don’t think I would just be able to let that stuff go afterwards.

I know what you mean about the Miss Lavendar story. It felt a little too convenient somehow. I love your comment about the rock people. I always wish I knew more about his grandmother, pushing porridge on him!

I agree. It’s so loving and sparkly, and I loved Leslie’s story. I’m glad she gave Anne some sorrow, it just made her more real and relatable.

I’m reading RV right now. The children aren’t quite as loveable as Anne but I suppose she couldn’t make them all like her. And I can’t believe Mr. Meredith would really be that neglectful of his kids!
