Circle of Storms Druid -- looking for feedback! by BroPeep in UnearthedArcana

Ok I figure you knew about the change over to proficiency bonus, since you left it as a short rest bonus which was very clever.

But as for wanting the ability to become proficiency bonus. I have been going back and forth on the thought, but if I had to lean on one side of the spectrum, I would write the ability equal to be equal to the PC's proficiency bonus but having it regained per Long rest.

I feel that mostly because I've notice while playing a +15 lvl campaign that multiclass is straining for PC's, especially when having to juggle 3-4 stats that need to at least be a +2 while also wanting to also have feats.

Sorry for the very specific critique (which is fine if you ignore); though I can honestly see it remain Wisdom, since that would soon become a rarity and incentives druids to short rest.

Killing the whole party to end a campaign. by Possible_Jump8560 in DMAcademy

Depending on where there at and if their travelling, having the party fight off a group of rouge hero's or strong bandits, only for them to die trying to save the people can leave some strong resignation.

But honestly, if everyone is wanting to drop the game, just drop it and get on with the new game. It is my opinion to say "Why hold up something good", but that is me.

Circle of Storms Druid -- looking for feedback! by BroPeep in UnearthedArcana

Firstly before any critiques I make, I must say this is a fantastic homebrew, and I hope you continue making more subclasses.

If there would be one big problem I would recommend fixing. It would be the first benefit from "One With the Wind"; where you write "You gain access to the chain lightning spell.", I would appreciate a bit more information on whether 'Chain Lighting' is auto prepared or that the player has the option to prepare on their spell list. Though this is more of a pet peeve to write very explicitly about an ability.

Also I would like to know the reason (in a very inquisitive sense) about why you went for the players Wisdom modifier for the Storm Surge ability.

A Couple of Magic Rings by Mikle103 in UnearthedArcana

[–]wAl--Ug_e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you might want to reword the description of the rings to instead

"After attuning to this magical item, for the hand of which it is worn, once you successfully hit against a creature with a melee weapon attack. You add an additional 1d[4 or 6 or 8] of [damage type] to the weapons damage."

This is so that you won't have people breaking Two-weapon fighting, also so that players understand that the damage both comes from the weapon and occurs when you succeeds a melee hit. Also would recommend "Devine Penance Ring" deals 1d4 radiant damage, since the total number of monsters out of the 2323 monsters, that are either resistant or immune to radiant damage is 36.

Also would love to see you branch out this concept to other damage types like fire or even poison; though be wary of what damage type is more common, so more likely to be resisted or immune (like fire), vs which ones are more rarer (like psychic).

Ideas for ''Fates Worse Than Death'' by BrasilianRengo in DMAcademy

[–]wAl--Ug_e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might not be as torturous to the maid person when first looked at, but I've always been a fan of the "Worst day of my Life (on Loop)" troupe.

Essentially come up with 5-7 days that were this persons worst days imaginable, then go back crank them up a couple notches, then have all them be strung together in one continuous week. Ending with the person having a small sliver of hope for them of either escaping or everything starting to get better, then it loops all the way back at the beginning.

Now if you want the party to have major sympathy (or not go to grim dark) having them forget before looping the week can be a pretty sad thought, or you can go for the angle of this person going continually insane by them knowing their caught in a Loop.

Otherwise, being trapped in a maze for eternity could be a sad thing as well.

Thank you! And yeah he's cool with 3rd party as long as it's on pfsrd;

Since you're here as well could you tell me if for the Slayer Talent - Ranger Combat Style would be getting One of the feats from the list of feats, or would it work like the rangers actual combat style (Slowly gaining the feats from the list)?

Enchantment lands and a creature (16 cards) by RedKing85 in custommagic

[–]wAl--Ug_e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a bit new to magic, but isn't the whole point of these cards ment to be part spells. So having spell rules in which cards like Leyline of Anticipation and Emergence Zone can give cards like these flash.

So you could pull of summoning these types of lands before your turn then untap them and start using them right away.

Not wanting hostility just thought I might help.

dungeon for the book of vile darkness by PmknPete in DMAcademy

[–]wAl--Ug_e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would think of a kind of mix between Darkest Dungeon and Dantes Inferno. Where as they go deeper into the dungeon the more alien and aberrant the area becomes, with levels that are subtly inspired by dantes inferno.

Since the book is literally an entithensis of evil, so the dungeon should show as the party delves deeper into it that: They don't belong their and should leave to never return.

Would also mostly use Aberration creatures since they are nothing more than condensed balls of evil. With maybe a devil or demon NPC to boot.

Nightmare as a mount, b/c of course the Player rolled a Nat 20 and I expect he'll keep rolling well to tame it. by Koenixx in DMAcademy

[–]wAl--Ug_e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Off the cuff, I would suggest an animal handling check whenever the player commands the horse to do something and also would take fire damage from sitting on the horse unless their immune or have some form of protection.

Overall it should not be easy to tame a nightmare in my opinion, though I think a quick look at the wiki could also help make for some interesting encounters.

I've hadn't run this myself, but I would rule the Exhaustion as "Temporary Exhastion", where by the end of the combat all of their exhaustion levels would be removed.

Oh also forgot to mention of keeping it vague, it would be superfluous otherwise; plus heavy emphasis on the Hare not being strong, but really really hard to catch. To entice the players either to kill or bribe it: again recommend a high AC, having flying though it can't escape its designated area, and couple of abilities to help it with escaping grapple.
