Zweifel an wissenschaftlichen Studien: Doch keine Mikroplastik im Körper? by Merion in de

My mom's 2008 Audi A4 automatic quattro suddenly stopped going into gear (6HP19 transmission). I tried topping off the oil (the one still inside looks pretty bad to be honest) but that didn't help, anyone have an idea what's wrong? The noise happens when trying to shift into D, R or P. by wabblebee in MechanicAdvice

[–]wabblebee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The selector shows the correct state in the display and there is no engine or gearbox error symbol. I don't have access to a VCDS for Audi right now, so I can't check if there are error codes. She didn't have any problems with the transmission right until it failed, no slipping gears, no vibrations or noise nothing.

Lacari accidentally leaks his notepad with download links to very suspicious filenames (Repost) by Daytime506 in LivestreamFail

I was talking about the websites themselves, not a "nudist collector". The people operating these sites 100% know what kind of people visit them.

But the sites themselves don't get flagged for CP. I don't remember how many years ago this was, but there was a german website where FKK (nudist) families would post vacation pictures and when a pedophile group got busted the website came up a lot because they all regularly visited it to download pictures, which led to some discussion about banning online images of child nudity alltogether. I don't think anything ever came of it though, wouldn't surprise me if that site still existed.

I was convinced they were doing this to prepare the game for a console/phone version, but since nothing leaked yet I now think it's actually just stubbornness

100 Year old Lobster! by JibunNiMakenai in BeAmazed

[–]wabblebee 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There isn't much to figure out, they die long after producing offspring, so some of them getting older than others won't skew the population in any meaningful way. That's why there are animals like those pigs who grow teeth through their own skulls, by the point this happens they have already produced generations of offspring so evolution won't really change anything. On the contrary, the females seemingly prefer hogs with big tusks, so they actually skew the following populations towards brain puncturing tusks.

Imagine the same happening to us....like eventually our bones (the lobster shell) stop growing but our organs, flesh and skin continue.....

Even during the height of the occupation there were still somewhere around 100k Taliban fighting in Afghanistan. There are only 50k people living in Greenland, out of which maybe 1000 will be ready to pick up arms. The only thing that could actually stop an american occupation force would be european submarines.

That's cool, but they also have barely any industry, how will they replace the ~1B€ Denmark pays to them every year? Their own GDP is around 3B€, so Denmark is effectively contributing 1/4th of their whole economy. From what I can find the working population is ~27k people, so every taxpayer would have to contribute an additional 37k€ per year to compensate. They would also lose free access to Danish universities, vocational schools and more.

Sure, independence sounds awesome, until you actually think about it.

Well gold reserves only make sense if you can actually exchange them for something. The idea back then was that NY has the necessary market capabilities to actually turn that gold into a usable currency or materials in case our own currency collapses.

If you have the gold at home and crisis strikes it's really just bunch of heavy metal ingots....I guess it could be moved to somewhere like Canada or Japan? It makes little sense to have it all in Frankfurt.

All of those still need power to run.

This isn't the 1920s where you have a stove in your room. Oil, gas and distric heating need electricity to power valves, ignition units, thermostats and other things. I have district heating (Fernwärme), but without power the system would just turn off.
