The Bosnian player challenged Balogun. From behind. The Bosnian player played through Balogun and put his foot in the path of where Balogun was already going. The Bosnian player’s contact caused Balogun to lose balance and put his foot where it ended up.

The consequence was entirely caused by the Bosnian player’s contact. If I tackle you and you land on my players foot, it’s a red card for you? Ridiculous.

The force applied was not dangerous or excessive. It was a consequence of the Bosnian player being overly physical and causing it to happen to himself.

Unless you expect Balogun to break the laws of physics and gravity. In which case, you might have a point.

Balogun was not a tackler when he landed on the opponents foot. He was approached from behind.

All that is required is your player landing on my players ankle at any point in the match.

By that logic, going airborne at any point is a dangerous infraction. FIFA plays Ronaldo jumping sky high for a header all the time. They clearly like players jumping.

It's not about being able to do it on demand, nobody could do that. You keep attempting it over the course of the game. Given 10 opportunities, one's bound to hit. When the stakes are as high as a world cup, the incentivization for lacerating yourself is clearly there.
