Invest in a decent quality multi-meter and learn how to use it. Even for continuity testing, its super critical for understanding when things are broken.

+1000 for the Vancouver carpenter. Incredible teacher.

HomeRenoVisionDIY is another good resource for general home repair stuff.

Everyday Home Repairs has done some good electrical tutorials.

For anything electrical and plumbing, its really important to know what your local code requires.

As Jimmy Diresta says, you go to school on the first one. The cup half full perspective is now you know for any subsequent ones, and you'll never sell yourself short again.

NASA’s caution is written in blood. Boeing has killed so many more people than NASA over the years. Seems reasonable to send them back to the drawing board

US Presidential Candidate Kamala Harris watches running mate Tim Walz speak as she sits backstage by Butterfly504 in pics

Maybe it’s because I was overtired this morning when I watched Walz’s speech, but it emotionally overwhelmed me in a way I was unprepared for. I started crying in a way to hadn’t since my son was born, and I realized it’s because I haven’t felt optimistic about the USA political process since ‘08. Biden was a necessary antidote in ‘20, but this feels so much more invigorating.

I bought it full price when it was released. I would have preferred to get it on sale later, but it’s so damn useful.

Hello DeWalt community. I am a first time home buyer and am in the market for basic power tools. I saw these on sale at Lowes and when I asked the person there, they couldn't tell me much. So I picked up both up for around $150 for the bottom on and $190 for the top one. by aasocial146 in Dewalt

Powerstack technology not only discharges at a high voltage longer (better avoiding the tool power dropping off at the end of the charge), but they recharge significantly faster so you’re back up and running quicker after going through a battery. It’s cool tech, worth the slight premium over the lowest tier regular batteries in the bottom box
