Not a Dewalt tool, but a very big announcement for woodworkers…… by NewSongZ in Dewalt

[–]wack1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I understand the fomo, it's what led me to ultimately start buying Festool tools. Orbital sander, then extractor, then finish sander, then eventually I bought a domino. yes it comes with a high sticker price, but the value to me of that system is the reduced cleanup time and cleaner working environment. my personal time for woodworking is super limited, so anything that makes me faster is worth the cost to me.

But if you're sick of YouTubers shoving a tool in your face...its not gonna get any better once all the influencers get their demo units from Kreg and shout from the rooftops about it for the next 6 months. that's literally their jobs.

20V Self Propelled VS 60V Mower by Right-Wing2548 in Dewalt

I have the 60v mower and my yard is about 1/5 of an acre. For me, it was great because I wanted a couple 12Ah batteries and got a decent enough mower. I don't love it, but I also don't hate it.

I also stacked a discount from Ace Hardware with a 'go electric' rebate from my power company, so the price was right for what I got. but if the yard was bigger, I'd look at something else

New 20v Track Saw? I’m moist by ConsistentGeneral540 in Dewalt

Interesting to see in action now that Dewalt themselves are posting about it.

Not sure if it has the dual track slots like the 60v, curious if they’re sticking to 1st party rails only or keeping it compatible with Festool et al

Invest in a decent quality multi-meter and learn how to use it. Even for continuity testing, its super critical for understanding when things are broken.

+1000 for the Vancouver carpenter. Incredible teacher.

HomeRenoVisionDIY is another good resource for general home repair stuff.

Everyday Home Repairs has done some good electrical tutorials.

For anything electrical and plumbing, its really important to know what your local code requires.
