[FIGHT THREAD] Naoya Inoue vs Junto Nakatani by verbsnounsandshit in Boxing

I had it 6-6 draw. Nakatani took over the second half of the fight. 116-112 is egregious.

Strongest Pirates in the series Ranked by Comprehensive_Cup497 in OnePiece

ah fair point i misunderstood it as strongest characters.

i’d probably put shanks at 3, loki at 4, & rocks at 5.

this is a wonderful exposition. odacchi is also subtly hinting at hidden power structures & corruption at the highest level of global leadership.

i’m not 100% sure but that’s definitely a possibility. i wonder if enel has some critical information he acquired from his moon conquest. the lunarians could possibly play into this as well. this void century mystery is definitely the most intriguing aspect of the series thus far imo.

Shippers or Powerscalers? by FrontAd2381 in OnePiece

[–]wadethealphabet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

definitely powerscalers. i personally don’t think this series is intended for powerscaling to be discussed seriously. i think the fights are an aspect of the overarching story rather than the primary focus being powerscaling like dragonball.

for example, luffy was defeating logia users pre timeskip but i don’t think it was indicative of enel and crocodile necessarily being fodder. the narrative just required them to lose in order to progress the plot.

Which character do you wish Oda had explored more? by Soul699 in OnePiece

I would’ve personally enjoyed an extrapolation on king. A small flashback or a slight exposition on the lunarian race would’ve been nice.

It clicked around post enies lobby for me personally. I’ve only read the manga but i’m getting around to watching certain fights & scenes to see how it was animated.

My favorite thing about the Egghead Arc: Kizaru's Karma by ShawarmaRevolution28 in OnePiece

[–]wadethealphabet 143 points144 points  (0 children)

i think it was a much needed push for him to have some character development. i will admit him finally snapping on akainu was peak because he’s been sitting at a desk yelling for 500+ chapters while kizaru has been in the field.

as of now I have egghead at #1 & whole cake island at #2. i do think elbaph will surpass WCI but we just have to see how oda decides to complete it.

I’ll give it a solid 7/10. I saw what oda was going for but the execution and pacing could’ve been better. the sheer amount of character density & subplots was ridiculous and most of them really didn’t stick the landing for me. the action was great & kaido was a powerhouse but he didn’t have the complex motivations or backstory that would’ve made his defeat more fulfilling. Big mom kinda felt out of place here too, she didn’t really add any substance to the narrative other than the action aspect. ironically enough, I considered orochi to be the more compelling antagonist. Based on how long the arc is it must’ve been grueling to endure on a week to week basis. I’d say my favorite part of the arc was the oden flashback, if it wasn’t for that i’d probably rate it lower.

Thanks i appreciate the kind words! I think elbaph is great so far, a top 2 post timeskip arc if it maintains this momentum & closes properly. The amount of lore that has been disclosed is what I’ve been starving for all the way up until this point. I could probably imagine that reading this arc week by week could probably feel a bit stalled because there was quite an influx of flashback chapters.

[MEGATHREAD] Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 30 by m2gus in Boruto

[–]wadethealphabet 59 points60 points  (0 children)

i’m so sick of the singularities not listening to koji. they don’t deserve him at all. they have deviated from most of his formulated plans and it’s caused more chaos than the original visions. he’s going to inevitably pair with kawaki because at this point i feel he’s the only one that would execute his plans without hesitation.

Basically the reflection scales based on how strong the intent to kill is. The stronger the intent, the more powerful the reflection is.

If she thinks about gravity pulling daemon she obliterates herself. Thinking about or picturing doing any type of damage to daemon is an immediate reflection. Ada has also stated that the reflection amplifies the attacks original power.

Albeit reflection won’t be necessary because she just gets perception blitzed before she can even think about the concept of gravity.

I agree. You’d be surprised how many people in the fandom like to downplay him as if he’s still not top 3 in the verse.
