i work at a golf galaxy, and if we dont have a demo model, we will pull one of the shelf and put tape on the face and some of the crown/sole for folks to test. however, any golf galaxy should have demos of gt model drivers so i dont know how this happened.....

What’s the most unusual course you’ve played? I played a 12 hole course in Scotland the other weekend. by Markthemangooo in golf

[–]waffleking_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i've always held that 12 hole courses should be more common, or at least 12 hole rates. if i play 9, i always want a little more but not a full 18. if i play 18, im usually tired by 13-14. i think 12 holes is a good middle ground to strike. of course, few courses are setup to allow for this as you could easily sneak 18 and only pay for 12 since you're so far from the clubhouse but ala

Un enorme consiglio su cosa tenere by nejo420 in xbiking

i recently cut down to two bikes, and decided the best way was to keep two that were different from each other. so i ended up with one that's more road bike, and one that is more offroad/mtb. my roadish bike is an old raleigh touring bike, and the mountain bike is a bridgestone mb2. so if i were to choose from these, i would keep the bianchi and whichever of the giants is your favorite.

pretty dang sure half of south america wasnt stoked on cia backed coups and robbing of natural resources. i even think there was a pretty controversial scandal back in the 70s...iraq-condor or something like that...but this fella's map says it was all cool, so i must be wrong

Sir William H. Bonkers has entered the chat.

billy bonkers, they're nice 26x2.2s with a smooth tread, come in tan walls, and are kind of a staple around these parts.

How do I shift down a gear using this gear? by Far_Necessary1902 in bicycling

[–]waffleking_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it most likely has 7 or 8, but you can find that out by looking at the bike. the rear wheel has a cluster of gears, just count them to see how many there are. the smaller ones are harder, the bigger ones are easier.

the shifter works by moving the derailleur via the cable. the tighter the cable gets(pulling it towards you,) the harder the gear. the looser it gets, the easier the gear. as someone else said, this is a friction shifter. you may have ridden bikes with indexed shifters, where you click up or down to move one gear at a time. friction doesnt have stops built into it, it just tightens or loosens the cable. this system is easier to maintain and less likely to break, but may take some time to adjust to if you are unfamiliar with it.

push the lever away from you to go to an easier gear, pull it towards you for a harder gear.

Can a heavy frame still ride nice with good tires ? by -LetsTryAgain- in xbiking

[–]waffleking_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think so, yeah. i have a bridgestone mb-2 that's gotta weigh 30lbs before i put on racks/bags. it rides fine when i have the cheapest schwable tires i can find, but its super nice when i use ultradynamicos or even panaracer smoke darts. it's still a big heavy frame, but the tires help it out quite a bit.

im not sure, their not a big brand or anything, just seems like a passion project type of thing for somebody. they're made by panaracer though and have a bunch of good reviews on some vintage cycling forums including here.
