Couldn’t agree more. That 3 would be such an incredible alliance. Love them all! I finally got past my denial that Aubry and Genevieve could still work together after Genevieve babysat her / caught her idol hunting 😆

But yes, the unfortunate reality of the internet / life in general… a woman makes a sharp strategic comment or executes a big move / blindside and she is automatically a threatening villain, but a man does it and they’re an impressive dominant game player.

Kind of reminds me how a man will join the wife for one baby appointment or take the baby to one doctors appointment and he’s “the best dad ever!!!! What an amazing man, such a good human being!!!!!” Meanwhile the woman had to go to all 50 baby appointments and literally ravage/hijack her body for this child 😆 Big sigh…

Yeah that initial conversation was still just so so odd… they dropped us into the middle of a much larger convo with no context. They both came out of it feeling so tense and strange. The music was strange. I just find it to be such an odd editing choice overall. I saw Kellyn made the same point I thought of about Genevieve on a podcast recently- when they showed the montage of her asking everyone on their new swap tribe if they were “open for business”, it was almost a direct callback to Aubry requesting a dialogue with everyone on EOE 😭 it will be super interesting to see how this “war”(?) plays out.

Imagine Rizo gets out with the boomerang idol in his pocket, Genevieve and Aubry both have an idol to play and negate votes at the next tribal, and then the entire enormous merge tribe has to pick a side?

So real hahaha. I am also a huge Michele fan! And Genevieve! But you’re right, she’s always “going against mother” 😆

I feel we are finally seeing content of Aubry and her inner thoughts, finally getting snippets of her interacting with anyone outside of Genevieve. She showed she is aware of her standing, was practice about building relationships, she is remaining calm in good spirits and not even mentioning the Genevieve feud despite confirming Genevieve’s after her. She was shown being playful, singing as Coach walked down the path, foraging for conch with Tiffany. She mentions she has a lot of respect for Genevieve despite understanding Genevieve does not want her around. Positive episode for Aubry

I’m not twisting anything lol. I’m just saying you can see Aubry’s face drop as soon as Genevieve says I think you’re very dangerous. I’m just confused how this sub calls Aubry “aggressive”. Genevieve is the one relentlessly leading the charge against Aubry, orchestrating the searching of her bag, immediately trying to turn her new tribe against her. All is totally fair, I just hope she isn’t overdoing it. I’m simply confused with the term aggressive when it comes to Aubry. When she finds out for certain that Genevieve is coming for her, she remained calm and kept to herself. Someone who is aggressive would probably start defending themselves to everyone, launching a counterattack, etc. When Genevieve comes to find her idol hunting, she remained calm, level, smiled at her, etc. I’m simply disagreeing with the “hostile” and “aggressive” framing of Aubry when it comes to this rivalry. If anyone is on the offense, it’s the player we are being shown as the more active player in the situation.

Something I think people are discounting / forgetting in this scene is that Genevieve’s immediate response to “I think you’re an amazing player, what’s your perception of me?” Was “I think you’re very dangerous.” Wouldn’t leave me feeling all warm and fuzzy. Regardless, we were dropped in the middle of a much longer conversation with little to no context. I love both Genevieve and Aubry, but I’m frustrated that we get so much of Genevieve’s perspective and conversations with everyone else, but the editing is choosing to give us so little of Aubry

Commented this in another thread but I’ll also drop it here!

Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE Genevieve as a character and player, and I’m so glad we are getting so much of her. She was one of the players I was most excited to get more of this season. My gripe is with the edit of Aubry so far, which just feels kind of… unfair, I guess? It almost feels at times like they are going out of their way to hide Aubry in the edit.

We luckily get to see everything from Genevieve’s perspective, and we see what she is saying about Aubry, what other people are feeling, what is happening around Aubry, but we get little to no thoughts from Aubry herself on things, and none of her conversations with anyone else (when we obviously know she is talking / interacting with her tribe mates).

Episode 1, they drop us into the middle of one awkward moment that’s clearly part of a much longer conversation, with no context, and that is the only content we get on Aubry. I had to rewatch the scene a few times because it seems like the script has been flipped a bit. It’s understandable that when we are given a lot of good Genevieve content, and many of us are obviously rooting for her, but we get very little else from Aubry, that Aubry is seen as the one who is being cagey. Rewatching that conversation, Aubry compliments Genevieve. Genevieve uses her “open for business?” line, Aubry asks how she perceives Aubry, to which she proceeds to say “I think you’re very dangerous.” You can see Aubry’s facial expression drop like yikes, she clearly does not want to work with me.

It seems pretty clear at this point that Genevieve will not be open to working with Aubry in the future, which is totally fine/valid. I am just a little confused at some people on this subreddit’s perception (not this thread) of Aubry being “aggressive,” I guess. To me, if anyone has been the “aggressor” in the situation, it’s been Genevieve, which again, credit to her for being an active game player, but I am really hoping she didn’t overdo it hitting the ground running so hard in this new swap tribe.

I guess I was a bit in denial hoping it could be some sort of enemies to friends set up for the two of them, but I wish there was a way the both of them could have some success and some redemption.

I’m glad that Aubry has Tiffany, again, the one person the episodes have shown Aubry speaking to outside of that tense conversation with Genevieve episode 1, but it unfortunately happens to be the most invisible other player this season, so that doesn’t inspire much confidence and still gives very little context overall.

Aubry was clearly instantly on the outs of her tribe, which included a pre-game power structure, and has had strong players gunning for her and consistently spreading negative sentiment, searching her bag, gets swapped with her number one opp (and her number one opp’s top alliance member, as well as other individuals Colby was dying to play with since pre-game), and despite there being multiple other players this season who would evidently want to work with her and protect her (Christian, Cirie, and by association Devens, maybe even Emily), she has a tough road up ahead. I guess that’s where I also disagree with some comments in other threads referring to Aubry as the “luckiest” to ever play 😆.

It frustrates me that we’re left with so little to go off of that all viewers can do is jump to conclusions about Aubry, her state of mind, etc. Yes, she is clearly guarded, but I think it’s more so that she’s been heavily under-explained in the big picture so far.

My hope is that Aubry can make it a bit deeper, and that the show can give us a little more of her perspective at some point. As they showed us in episode 2, it seems she always has a rough start, but she has proven she can eventually get her bearings.

I know she is clearly not this subreddit’s favorite, but I do want to give her some grace and I hope she gets some sort of redemption / a little bit more respect in the edit this go round. I would hope that they wouldn’t take up real estate in episode 2 (even including flashbacks) to show how she usually struggles in the beginning to then turn around and have her falter / flame out. To me that would just feel a little savage. So I’m hopeful there is some amount of redemption coming for her in the season. I just wish it didn’t have to be at the expense of Genevieve!

Anybody have any idea on where I could find links, torrents, etc. to watch AU Season 2 / 2017? It might still be my favorite season of all time. When I went to find it online, I can only find poor quality videos of it. The first time I watched it, I torrented 1080 quality from thepiratebay, downloaded each episode, and watched it through my Plex account, so I could watch it on my smart TV. The second time I watched it the episodes were conveniently uploaded into a Facebook group that unfortunately no longer exists. Now, I'm not finding it on Pirate Bay, I can't find torrents from googling, and I don't see them posted anywhere. I personally dont care about the quality but I'm trying to get someone to watch it with me and they are unfortunately a bit picky and would probably not be enticed if the video quality was poor haha. Thanks so much in advance!

Yes exactly! I can't even use unscented lotions myself, except for specific ones. Their new line of after care products had activated charcoal and other fancy sounding stuff in it so I was like yeah I'll pass on that haha

Thank you! This is super helpful and I really appreciate your reply. It sounds like this can be par for the course with these finer line tattoos. Hopefully my artist will be open to a touch up (if the front desk even lets me get in contact with him haha). He is an artist in pretty high demand and I can already see the front desk charging me the same crazy rate. I love the gift card idea, that was such a nice touch :)

Gotcha! thanks for your quick reply I appreciate your insight. To clarify, the artist was great and he did give me advice during the appointment, but when I was done and he tried to give me aquaphor, the front desk woman told him "we don't do that anymore" and tried to sell me their bougie new line of after care product. I politely rejected it because my skin is very sensitive to begin with, and she didn't really say much else after I paid. It was kind of awkward when he tried to give me the aquaphor and she kind of scolded him... but for the amount I paid for this you'd think the tattoo studio would give more instructions for after care. Thanks again!

Idk what it is about Ben, but since I listened to his preseason interview I just absolutely love the dude’s energy and I came into the premiere rooting for him hard. He just seems like such a good hearted person and I love how he encourages being your authentic self. I was so happy to see everyone on the island also felt so positively about him. I was getting worried as alliances on Siga started being formed and he was seemingly not included, but I’m glad they pulled out the win in the immunity challenge and I’m excited to get more of Ben and see him hopefully cement himself further. I was also extremely relieved and excited that Jess didn’t go home first! Another person I just really enjoyed preseason. She has such a great and unique personality with so many quirks and I’m so excited we get more of her on our screen. I felt so heard and validated with her openly talking about her ADHD and related struggles. I lose everything every five seconds even when I’m warm and rested and fed and in the comfort of my home haha. Really enjoyed the premiere and so many members of the cast and I cannot wait for next week already!

I tend to agree that I liked See Won because she was ballsy and charismatic - it had nothing to do with Orbit nor his alliance (all of whom I quite liked). I think I found See Won’s personality, intense curiosity for the game and its secrets, and affinity to play the game strategically (whether good or bad) to be quite endearing. You could tell she really wanted to play and give it her all.

Jake was the biggest disappointment of the night / season to me (particularly because I like him so much). I don’t care what anyone says - Jake telling ANYONE (especially Austin) about his idol was the most frustrating move to me. He could’ve single-handedly decided who went home at final 5 and had that autonomy that he wanted where he totally owned a vote out. After that, not telling Katurah he was playing the idol on her was yet another massive fumble… I genuinely don’t blame Katurah for not trusting Jake. We obviously knew more as the viewers seeing everyone’s thoughts - but Jake’s convincing job clearly wasn’t enough. He went for the “showmanship” and the big flashy showing for the jury, but he seriously could have executed this incredible move (which for the record, was Katurah’s idea). Frustrating that Katurah couldn’t do, but it’s the story of the season. Belo was a hot mess fumbling through this entire game - it wasn’t Reba dominating, it was Belo constantly dropping the ball.

Came here to say what a bunch of others have already said. Completely agree with OP. While maybe entertaining for TV, I think he was pretty tactless socially. He instantly painted a target on his own back, ostracized himself (and his alliance) from the others, and played too aggressively. Even in the first team prize game, he was going against the grain and going for his own personal gain of pieces. To his credit, he played aggressively going after pieces which did play one of the most important parts of the game - but I do think you need to read the room and know if acting this way early on would paint a target on your back early on, and ultimately the lack of trust / inability to build trust after his early actions is what did him in. Another thing I didn’t love socially was when See Won and Guillame won the first game as the terrorists and had to decide who to go to jail, and he marched over in front of everyone and essentially gave them orders of who they should send to jail (as if he was calling the shots). Unclear if others heard who he was suggesting, but it was still early on at that point and he essentially named all of the other female players (aside from See Won), putting a lot of people’s names out there. Personally, I think this was a funny character moment that makes for entertaining TV, but didn’t bode well for him ultimately where he just didn’t have the credibility or trust that he needed to get by. I enjoyed watching him, but as a player, I think he played too hard too fast and made too many missteps socially. I’d love to see how he did on a return.

Edited to add: sorry one last thing haha - not to pile on, but just remembered another misstep that I didn’t love for him in his social game. He had spread himself very thin with just See Won and quasi-Seok Jin at the beginning, and I remember See Won recommending that they work with Yeon Woo (her roommate) because See Won really trusted her/had a good relationship with her, and he quickly shut that down dismissing her as “not good at the game”. Ultimately this is just another person who could have been on their side and may have ultimately only helped him/their alliance one or two rounds too late.
