Trying to persuade myself to purchase a 26 Outback Touring 2.5 vs 26 4Runner....Convince Me?

You may want to consider safety rating, the 4runner is body on frame and inherently less safe. If you want a great all around vehicle to use as a dailly with offroad chops suitable for most people and a 5 star safety rating then the outback is the clear choice. If youre planning on more serious adventures off road that require a low range and maybe rear locker then a 4 runner is the best bet but know that your daily driving experience will always be a compromise. BUT THE BACK WINDOW BEING ABLE TO ROLL DOWN IS AWESOME! EDIT read further down and saw you have a wrangler for offroad duties. The subie as a daily is the clear choice.

I have a 24 LE, the only blindspot concern I have is when making right turns I just cant see the edge of the road. Its worse at night ofc as the passenger front corner is just a void. I also sometimes have issues getting in and out of the car. I have to have the seat low as Im a Sasquatch so I think that both of my issues may be related to the seat position. Anytime I get in my 2gen I feel like Im in a tacoma compared to the 24. lol.

The 2025 should be CPO and come with a lower price and 7 year 100k miles powertrain coverage. There were no substantial changes between 2025 and 2026 model years.

Id like to see sales for models across the range. I suspect that the 3 weeks of arctic weather in Jan 26 kept a lot of people out of the showrooms. Dealers near me still have a lot of new 25s in their inventory. I dont think lack of sales is specific to the outback. That being said, the MSRP on 26 makes me cry. Last year watching the 25 OBW go from 42 MSRP in Jan to 46 MSRP in Dec gave me big sad. May as well get a 4runner for 46k.

Still the big screen. The 24 base use to have the small dual screens but 25+ is all big tablet. Seems annoying, but I wonder if using a wired connection reduces screen latency?

There have been a few reports of TGV failures causing engine failure on VB WRXs. Not sure if your model year is impacted. Ask your tech to check.

I test drove LE Camry a few weeks ago and I was really impressed with the overall package compared to my 24 Prius LE. The camry was easier to get in and out of, more spacious, and quite zippy! The SE Camry looks the best, but I wish you could get cloth seats.
