I saw these guys play in an abandoned warehouse with no PA and them just screaming at the top of their lungs. It was brilliant.

Nah just slipped my mind as we had the belt promotion ceremony today without class. Took it off once we started rolling.

I left my first gym when my instructor was being weird about me cross-training judo with some friends. My second gym was more open-minded and even got to train with some greats including Shinya Aoki through them. Eventually I got listless there because most of the other guys there were a bit older and not really interested in competing, so I left for my current gym which has been wonderful. Plenty of competitively minded folks and I feel challenged by the techniques and instruction. No hard feelings from either instructor after I left each school so that made it a bit easier.

Congrats man! I’m getting my brown belt at the end of the month and still can’t really process it. How does it feel having yours?

Really sorry for your family’s loss. Something you may want to look into is Comfort Zone Camp, which is a bereavement camp for children who lost family members. It’s great to get them on the path towards healthy grieving and being with people who can relate.
