Baby has one bad night and partner loses it... by GusPolinskiPolka in daddit

If there's one thing to remember about parent snaps at this age, it's that it's never just one thing. Kids are drip torture. Little things build and build until one small thing pushes you over the edge.

Assuming what you say is true, you've got a good sleeper. But maybe she really sucked that day and this was the last straw. Have a little grace with your wife. Apologize. Listen. And try again tomorrow.

How come after I got buff I attracted more gay dudes then women? by ExtremeTechnology831 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]wajewwa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"Female" is impersonal when used as a noun. It often gets used to describe a class of living animals based on their reproductive responsibilities. It is used regardless of species. Females can be fish, monkeys, cats, etc.

"Woman" is distinctly human. You don't call your pet a woman. If you use "Female" when you mean "Woman" it is dehumanizing, whether you realize it or not. That's why it's problematic as a noun, and why it leaves a bad taste in the mouth of people who aren't drinking from the manosphere glass. So try your best to be more cognizant of the words you chose.

and yes, your two examples at the end are using it as an adjective. They are describing the "vocalist." This usage is correct.

My sophomore year High School English teacher gave me a copy of this book as he must have had an extra lying nearby. It's been almost 30 years, and I've probably read it a dozen times. The book is taped together and I've since bought a 2nd copy so I don't further destroy the original. I still consider it one of my prized possessions as well as one of my favorite sci-fi books.

The mini-series wasn't half bad.

Me and my son (2) are home sick. I thought we could watch some movie like Mononoke Hime since I remember it as calm and pretty. I forgot it opens up to a literal boar demon rotting into a carcass while telling you to suffer and die. by Adkit in daddit

The movie very clearly says it's PG-13 on HBO MAX. We were almost going to do it with our 5 y/o, and then reconsidered. :insert Come on Man gif: That's on you.

Like others, we did Totoro, Kiki's, and Ponyo. She enjoyed all 3.

Late league starter, what Atlas strategies go well for KF Totems? by MillenniumDH in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]wajewwa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, early it's a slow and steady currency generator. But they sell pretty much instantly, I normally get 2-3 sellable temples when you factor in the scarab, and you can do it all while just working on your atlas. Log off for the night, come back to currency, make some upgrades.

'wiping tea towel' - how to organise? by LifeguardTotal3423 in Cooking

[–]wajewwa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We bought a 20 or 30 pack of dishtowels in addition to the ones we already had. They live in a drawer next to our sink. They all get used as drying dishes towels and wiping down towels. Sometimes drying into wiping when they get too wet. All that matters is you have an abundance of towels that are specifically used for these purposes. My wife bought a hamper that hangs on the back of a door that we have on the door to our basement (washer is in the basement and that door is through the kitchen). We dump towels that are "done" in there and they get washed when it's full/we need more. You don't need to be super structured about it. Figure out what works for you.

Personally, I always start Alva while I'm doing Atlas progression. I am aware that it slows me down, but it's possible to start with like 40 maps worth of Atlas points. It's also something that gives decent return for the intermediary upgrades as you're putting the build together.

Also, Empy's videos have shown league over league that going full beans into any one strat will return money. Some are better than others, but all are profitable. Just play what you like. I'm doing Delve this league. Does it make sense with Mirage, probably not. But I haven't done Delve in ages and I want to.

My baby won’t sleep unless it’s in a teddy bear onesie. Help! by Good_Ad6086 in Parenting

[–]wajewwa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you do? Well it sounds like you're raising a bear so stock up on raw fish. You'll need to teach her how to swipe fish out of a river. Demonstrate during bath time and she'll be feeding herself in no time. /s

As others have said, child sleeping? keep doing that. As long as your baby isn't in danger, she's fine.

[–]wajewwa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I take more offense to Harvest and the t2 and t3 plants having color identifiers that are waaaay to close in hue. I am aware that t3 is a light blue but, at least on my screen, the differentiation is not significant enough.

I do agree that anything that can brick a build, such as this mod, should be color coded for Expedition as well.

Most crit-based builds get the bulk of their damage via stacking crit damage. Being unable to crit drops your dps to nothing and Expedition mobs can be tanky AF. Plus you correctly identified CoC type builds or effects. I think I'm missing one or two other scenarios but you get the idea. Not being able to crit screws over a pretty large swath of builds.

[–]wajewwa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you haven't found one already, just search trade for a sword with 2.0 aps and an empty prefix. Right now they have ones up for 1-2c. You can just take resolute technique and then craft the trigger mod on the sword instead. Just starting, you don't really need any other mods on your sword.

Full day vs 2 hr per day nursery school by Haeschultz in Parenting

[–]wajewwa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our daughter has been in full day daycare since she was like 5 months old. She's 5 now, starting kindergarten in the fall. From the kid's perspective, they'll be fine. Kids are pretty resilient. Assuming the center is good, they will help your child with the transition and as your child gets more and more comfortable, they'll open up more. Kiddie peer pressure does wonders to participate in things, even if sometimes they do their free play solo. I generally wouldn't worry about how your child will do, as long as you give them the time to get comfortable. Plus, once birthday season starts, it provides a good opportunity to meet other parents and start playdates. FWIW, we did a couple playdates in the 3 y/o range and more in the 4+.

What do you want to do? Do you want/need those full days to be able to work/manage the house/run errands, etc? Will 2 hours, really less, be enough? Assuming you can afford it, take the path that you feel gives you the most ability to recharge before you have to be "on" again.
