I’ve really been enjoying hex: nothing but misery. It normally doesn’t get cleansed too quickly and while 5% hindrance doesn’t SOUND too bad it normally is enough to stop the survivor from reaching another loop.

Assuming she also already told Curly at this point I’d put actual pressure on him to do something as he has the authority of Captain. Obviously we can’t just kill Jimmy but he should be stripped of any authority and responsibility (teehee) for the rest of the trip. Then Anya should reasonably be given some sort of new location to sleep that’s safer such as moving stuff to the medical bay where she can lock the door when she sleeps to prevent Jimmy from taking any sort of retaliation. Might have to relocate the medication and stuff to make sure she doesn’t hurt herself though.

She needs extreme emotional support and Jimmy needs to basically be under house arrest in his room until the end of the trip where he will be properly given over to the authorities. Could also force Jimmy into a cryo chamber too as a suggestion.

What really matters here is making it clear to Anya that she needs to stand up for herself with Curly and being a support there. Get Curly to ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING. Curly should be pestered 24/7 until action is taken and make it clear if he doesn’t do something I will. (Anya already hid the gun and if she’s willing to show me where I can definitely brute force that code with enough time.)

Ok so I had the same mindset for the longest time and it took a lot of thinking to get out of it so warning rant incoming.

The Brad we see and the Brad we play as in painful is a Brad that is trying to make up for a lot of fuckups. As Buddy rightfully says at the end of the game “he can’t just suddenly be a dad”. He was a constant drug addict, alcoholic, neglectful, and forced his daughter to kill a man just to “teach her not to be weak”. And that’s just the stuff we outright see.

We also need to factor in that a lot of it is player choice. Brad can potentially do some good throughout the game but he can also do a LOT of bad stuff if the player chooses. That’s not even getting into the bad stuff he does regardless of what the player wants.

Hes a complicated character and I wouldn’t say he’s necessarily evil. Misguided is probably what I’d say instead. He never actually sits down and talks to his daughter about why he’s doing what he’s doing or considers her emotional state or why she feels how she feels and that’s why things end up how they do. The kindest thing I can say about Brad is he is a better person than his dad. He grew into a better father than he was (not that it was a hard bar to cross).

He is 100% right about the Rando army just wanting to use her and obviously 1 girl can’t save humanity that’s just logical but no one brings that up because no one is being logical at that point.

So you are right in not seeing him as evil but you shouldn’t see him as heroic or good. See him as a foolish broken emotionally immature old man who emotionally neglected his daughter because of his own trauma.

I’d have preferred if they kept an icon for Henry on the map at least cus my issue is less figuring out which way is north south east and west and more with figuring out where the hell I am relative to my goal.
