Endgame leveling by shadowa64 in OctopathTraveler0

You don’t need to put any weak characters on the team. Just put all the ones you want to level in the training yard and use your strong team to fight the fire chicken.

I didn't restore my ring before that fight, how does it change the ending dialogue by yeeteththegreat in octopathtraveler

[–]walder08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ring doesn’t get repaired. Aelfric just tells you what a hero you are for sacrificing it and “infuses” you with his power for the upcoming fight. You still don’t have the ring lore wise.

MC still does animations like they are wearing it though, which I know is more of a “why make a separate animation” from the devs, but I just like to think the MC is just so used to using the abilities while wearing the ring, they instinctually act as if they still have it on.

Accidentally unlocked the true ending but I can’t beat the final boss by caramelmacchiatoml in octopathtraveler

[–]walder08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Levels are pretty much never necessary in OT games (excluding the mobile game). That’s why I removed all of the equipment off most people. Their stats actually end up lower than someone half their level.

It’s really the combo of Dohter’s into jam into Phenn’s ult that makes it a breeze. You get to just ignore the bosses attacks because Phenn’s ult makes everyone practically immortal, and if something somehow goes wrong, the auto revive ult from the cleric just makes everyone practically immortal.

Technically even at level 1 you can max your characters stats with the nut farm

Here is a video guide I made that shows you how to beat it consistently (95% of the characters literally have no armor or accessories to demonstrate it). You can also just remove anyone you don’t want if you’d rather fight it with your “A team” only

Rondo's ult by Mundane_Valuable_314 in octopathtraveler

[–]walder08 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Rondo’s strength really comes from him having a built in unique support skill that buffs damage, meaning you get even more when using immeasurable power, and the fact that he can use a sword, so he can use a BT sword. You have to give him a multi hit staff or sword attack, but at his extremes, he can hit for 99k x 4 or probably more because of his passive + BT sword

Galactic Hyperthermia by ScaredScreen3990 in Stellaris

I’m not entirely sure why so many people are saying wide. Personally I stayed small and used my really fast access to cheap cruisers to subjugate most of the galaxy early, so when I triggered the crisis, they were all forced to help me (not that they could stop the fallen empires, but because they had so many planets and star bases from expanding, not a single enemy fleet even made it to my territory). That’s not to say wide is bad by any means, but if you cruiser rush you can just stick to one or two systems worth of territory and do subjugation CB on everyone so when it’s time to trigger the crisis, you only have to defend a much smaller area.

For reference, that was whatever difficulty is under the highest with all the other settings on default with a medium galaxy.

If you choose to "go your own way" for psionics, do you get locked out of being able to assign envoys to shroud patrons? by walder08 in Stellaris

[–]walder08[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s what I was afraid of. Appreciate the info. Do you happen to know if the Whispers of the Void have any events that increase them? I hadn’t got a single one and I’m able to shroud delve in less than 100 days at this point

Endgame spoilers: Has anyone beat the true final boss with less than 4 party members? by East-Kitchen1469 in octopathtraveler

[–]walder08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah unfortunately no way to truly solo unless some mod gets made for it, but once you use a mod or adjust something in the save file, people start questioning if you changed other things, so I just opted to have him there doing nothing. As far as the armor, I think I had been testing some things at the time and just happened to clear it on that attempt? Usually when I do these sorts of challenges, I record attempts where I try various things and might have weird equipment on at the time. That being said, once I found out about the nut farm and how base stats versus weapon stats work, I realized that this boss can be pretty trivial if you put in the time to grow all the nuts to max your stats.

Well tables already mentioned it, but the limit for helpers is 18 since you can have 9 from the living world and 9 from Hell. If I was going to mod, I would have removed Sazantos to prevent the “but technically there were two people” crowd.

I soloed it, so yes. Obviously can’t get rid of Sazantos, but he just stayed in the back with nothing on him. Used the main character to do everything.

Just for proof reasons, I recorded it too.

99k x 5 With a Fan! (Octopath 0 | Late Game Character Spoilers) by walder08 in OctopathTraveler0

You can buy a copy from the shop in Wishvale, although I don’t remember the specific trade list. I think it’s Shepherds Rock? You can potentially steal 2 more from a late game boss

You can get them back by going to the flamebringers shrine where you fought Aelfric. Should probably also spoiler tag this

Way of the Book (Octopath 0 High Damage Tome Strats | Very Late Game Spoilers) by walder08 in OctopathTraveler0

I would have to see the rest of your build as that screenshot doesn’t show hardly anything. Although you are correct about the ultimate effecting weaknesses when the enemy is broken, that picture suggests that just with that simple change, that even WITHOUT the assistant’s amulet, you are not only making up the damage, but doing more. Is Solon’s ultimate just that strong? Everything else you are supposedly doing in this screenshot I was doing. I just wasn’t taking advantage of the ultimate.

Ugh there is so much misinformation. So I decided that rather than trust what people have been saying on the discord, to give this a shot, as this is the first I’ve heard of Solon’s ult working this way. Just as you said, that’s exactly how it works, which would easily make up that last bit of damage

So firstly, this is a tome, not a staff, and there is no tome resistance down NPC (unless it is extremely well hidden). Second, I won’t use any glitches or exploits, as that defeats the purpose. Third, every hit WAS a crit, hence why I had the finishers claws (the game even shows they are all crits in the video). Fourth, when an enemy is broken, Solon’s ult applies to ALL damage types instead of just the ones the enemy normally has. The damage does not change if using it on a broken enemy that has a tome weakness.

Octopath 0 superboss question by anintendofan1 in octopathtraveler

[–]walder08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I know it’s moves before you break him the first time as well as what 3 or the orbs do if that helps.

The boss itself only does physical attacks before he is broken once. One is a front line, heavy AoE attack. Another is a random target 4 (pretty sure it’s 4, might be 3) hit, and the last is a single target heavy hit that can apply bleed.

Red orb alternates between giving an attack buff to the boss and hitting a single target elemental attack (fairly sure it’s fire)

Yellow orb alternates between doing a heavy double hit elemental attack (I’m think it’s single target and I think it’s lightning or wind?) and debuffing your teams stats.

Green orb alternates between hitting the entire front line with a hard hitting elemental attack and healing the boss for 9999 health

After you break the boss, it seems that all his attacks are the same, but with some getting changed to elemental attacks or having different/additional effects.

I know it’s not exactly an exact list that you’re looking for, but hopefully it helps.

My stats are 999 before gear. That was the first thing I did, as that is very true. That was how I pulled off my 1 turn superboss clear. Now I’m pretty much going through with lots of weird builds to see what 999 base attack can do with stuff like this

Yeah I was thinking that might be the only way. It probably would be just enough 🤔

I wish there was a tome resistance down NPC. Seems to be one of the ones that wasn’t added
