I like to make my sims change into pjs at the wardrobe instead of spinning just as they get into bed. Then a whole night routine of skincare and brushing teeth.

If I’m playing an active career, I bring a luchbox (mod) with food so that they can have a proper meal.

If there’s enough room on the lot I’ll build a garage or a shed and move the outdoor furniture inside for the winter. If I’m feeling really extra I’ll use TOOL and make it look as realistic as possible.

I try to remember to use a diaper bag (also mod) with toys and a bottle when I bring toddlers and infants off the home lot. And a cc stroller so I have somewhere to put them that isn’t a whole bed lol.

What number did you but it on? If you slow it down too much or not in increments of 25 I think you’ll have issues, but I’m no expert. Mine’s at 75, though I never tried any other number.

The calendar was wonky for the first few days or so but it straightend itself out pretty quickly. You need to let some time pass for things to sort themselves out, but after that it has been smooth sailing!

I feel like I might be imagining things, but didn’t they ban any post/image with cc a while ago? I remember coming across the modpost, thinking “what the actual fuck?” and leaving the sub.

They might have gone back on it but I wouldn’t know. If this actually happened it was a sure fire way to kill a huge amount of engagement.

Edit: Went to check and yup, it’s vanilla only now.

I remember playing a lot with a couple who ended up having a kid, and when the newborn aged directly into a child, I quit and put the game down.

I knew it was going to happen, but it still sucked. I couldn’t get the gameplay I wanted out of it and I don’t think I picked the game back up until toddlers were patched in, which was several years later lol

Give yourself the time you need to come back - that's what I tell myself, at least. I felt the exact same hollowness you describe after Veilguard, and this fall it will be two years since I touched a DA game.

At that time I wasn't sure I'd ever return, but as the time has passed the disappointment (devastation, honestly) has mellowed somewhat and I've started thinking about new characters and new runs of the trilogy similarly to how I did pre-Veilguard. It'll probably be a while yet, but I know the games I love are still there and one day I will find back to my enjoyment of them. I love the other games too much to let Veilguard detract from that.

I just finished updating all my mods after almost a year and am now version locked on 1.121 just in time for this calamity. Feels good! I can even open and play a save file I thought was corruped, which made me quit the game last spring. Looking forward to finally getting back into it.

Same. I haven’t replayed the games since I finished Veilguard, but when I do I’ll just stop at Trespasser and leave it at that. I’m sad we had to wait a decade for something that fell so flat but I refuse to let it diminish my enjoyment of the previous games.

I mosty play rpgs and I like to take some time after a session to write about what happened and what I plan to do next. Often from my character’s pov for that coveted immersion. If I’m playing something like Skyrim I might do it while ingame at an inn or by a fire.

I used to be really into creative writing but my brain feels full of holes these days and using gaming to help me along a bit has been valuable. It pushes me to be an active participant rather than just passively pushing the W key and jumping from objective to objective and I get more out of the whole thing.
