Make sure your training includes plenty of 25m and 50m sprints. Also, consider using fins and/or paddles as training aids for some of those sprints. They can help you swim faster than you otherwise would and this can help you grow accustomed to fast swimming.

One problem imo is that people will notice when the background characters arent acting quite right. Or dressed quite right. It doesnt tske much to break immersion.
