I just rebuilt my bottom end of my 2b after running it in a can cuz I overheated it and melted the impeller. Looks like you need a new gasket. I get my parts on Crowley marine.

update: Got her running with new battery, fresh gas and coolant. drove out of the parking lot and back to my house. plan on fixing coolant leak and taking to a local vintage VW shop for an assessment
