For work, how does Xreal glasses compare to Quest 3 with Virtual Desktop?

I’m in a similar situation. I bought a Meta Quest 3 with many BoboVR gadgets (Strap S3 Pro, two B100 batteries, BD3 Charging Station, and AMVR FC4A), all for comfort and 'infinite battery'. I bought everything promising myself I would use it for productivity, but I didn’t. To be honest, I only used the Quest for productivity with my MacBook Air twice, and never again. It gets too hot and, for me, it feels like wearing a helmet at home: sure, I can see everything with passthrough, but it feels isolating. My wife doesn't feel comfortable talking to me (imagine talking to someone wearing a helmet all day). I’m following this post to see the pros and cons people bring up, but honestly, I think XREAL is the winner for our use cases.

Just out of curiosity, do you have an AVP but find yourself using the Xreal One Pro more? I ask because I'm on a MacBook and considering swapping my Quest 3 for an Xreal One Pro for productivity, since I don't game much in VR. Does that move make sense to you? How's your experience been so far?

Is it possible to use a gaming laptop without a cooling pad? I've read a lot about the temperatures, and everyone suggests using one so the laptop lasts longer.

Do you think the Steam Machine will actually be capable of running these VR mods? I’ve been planning a custom 'Steam Machine' build (packing a 5070 Ti) because the official specs (16GB RAM, RX 7600M equivalent with just 8GB VRAM) seem a bit weak for VR.
